Activities at Ouse View Care Home
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
Time to Sing
What an amazing afternoon residents of Ouse View had at St Oswald's Church in Fulford! The residents had an absolute blast at the Time Out event, filled with music, singing, and good company.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Kev for making this visit possible driving the mini bus. The kindness and generosity of everyone is truly appreciated!
At Ouse View care home, we believe that it's essential to stay engaged and connected within our community in social activities. Visits like this remind us how important it is to come together and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
Clothes Swap
Residents at Ouse View enjoyed a rummage to find some new togs, the ladies in particular are in their element shopping for that something special. Harry is pleased with his selection and we have smiles all round as we save money and help the environment by swapping instead of buying new avoiding landfill. We enjoyed fabulous refreshments alongside of freshly made cakes and biscuits all washed down with a nice cuppa.
Pancake Day
On Shrove Tuesday Ouse view enjoyed a pancake creation station. The morning began with a pancake games tossing competition followed by games on oomph, Barchester's virtual online games platform.
The afternoon was then filled with delicious treats, the whole home got involved as residents, visitors and staff select their favourite toppings choosing from fresh fruits, traditional sugar and lemon as well as a variety of sauces such as chocolate, strawberry and honey. We had a wonderful day celebrating Shrove Tuesday, Yum!!
Culture and Creativity
The past weekend was a celebration of culture and creativity at Ouse View care home in Fulford!
We marked the occasion of the Taj Mahotsav festival by making beautiful bangles and savoring the delicious taste of homemade naan bread.
Our residents also got to learn all about the rich cultural heritage of India and the significance of this beautiful festival. It was a day filled with laughter, new experiences, and a deep appreciation for the diversity of our world. Happy Taj Mahotsav!
Musical Moments
On Thursday the residents at Ouse View care home were treated to a wonderful performance by the talented Maggie Baker and three students of music from York St John University! The atmosphere was electric as Maggie and her team brought a lot of laughter and happiness to our home with their beautiful voices, fantastic dance moves, and incredible ukulele playing! Thank you so much, we can't wait to have you back soon!
Gilbert and Sullivan Society 'The Gondoliers' Performance
Residents had a fantastic afternoon here at Ouse View care home in Fulford. Staff were honoured to host the Gilbert and Sullivan Society who treated us to a fantastic performance of "The Gondoliers".
Staff and residents were thoroughly entertained by the talented singers and musicians and couldn't stop tapping their feet to the upbeat tunes from the live performance. It was a truly magical experience and we're so grateful to the Gilbert and Sullivan Society for bringing so much joy to our care home.
