Activities at Ouse View Care Home
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
Carol concert
Residents and staff at Ouse View Care Home enjoyed the chance to sing Christmas Carols in a traditional Lessons and Carols Service led by our local vicar Rev. Sue Sheriff. We are enjoying the true spirit of Christmas, and look forward to more visits from Rev Sue in 2022.
Christmas cheer!
On Christmas Eve, Mrs. Claus and Shorty the Naughty Elf visited our Residents and Staff at Ouse View Care Home, delivering fabulous Christmas Cards, handmade by the lovely pupils of Dunnington Primary School, together with minty candy canes for everyone. After a recital of "T'was The Night Before Christmas", Mrs. Claus passed on Santa's good wishes, bidding everyone to be nice today, and to be in bed early so he can maybe leave a parcel or two. Our Residents were thrilled!
All Wrapped Up
Here at Ouse View Residents are feeling very festive, wrapping presents for their loved ones this afternoon.
We're all looking forward for Mrs Claus to arrive here at Ouse View in the coming days.
Merry Christmas!
Christmas Jumper Day
Staff here at Ouse View in Fulford were very happy to support the Friday Christmas Jumper or Top day for Save the Children, each donating £2 per person. Residents loved the efforts of the staff and Relatives who sent in their pictures too, showing their support and love for the day.
Ouse View Residents and staff are all warmed up and feeling loved over the Christmas period, what a wonderful time of year.
Visit from a furry friend!
Residents at Ouse View enjoyed a day of feeding carrots and giving cuddles with the resident reindeer PAT Dog Bruno.
Bruno the PAT dog wore his best jumper and his ruby red antlers much to residents delight!
Magic of the Nutcracker
We experienced the magic of the Nutcracker with a special interactive workshop led by English National Ballet Associate Artists.
Our residents were able to take a magical journey thorough Edwardian London and to learn more about the enchanted Nutcracker characters: Clara, the Mouse King, and her valiant Nutcracker doll.
The session included a chair-based dance workshop, clips of the ballet on stage and a Christmas carol sing-along, truly enjoyed by all.
