Activities at Park View Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Park View Care Home

Over the Rainbow

Staff from Park View decorated our window in honour of key workers during this unprecedented time.

Scooty Wooty's Ponies

Jennifer from Scooty Wooty's Ponies came to visit our residents with her miniature Shetland, Minnie, who brought back amazing memories from their childhood. Minnie visited all communities, as Millie was fantastic in lifts and so patient with all residents. Residents were so overjoyed and happy to see the pony, and have asked already she will be coming back to visit.

Christmas Eve

At Christmas eve our home's manager, Sam, dressed up as father Christmas to bring a little Christmas magic into the home even though it was Sam’s birthday the same day. After a few pictures with staff including one of our nurses dressed as a Christmas tree and care assistants joining in the fun too.

Sam then went round to every community and see every residents and wish them a merry Christmas. Residents were all smiling some even laughing. But a good time was had by all including our manager.

Beam School Choir

Students from the Beam school choir visited the home recently to sing Christmas carols for the residents. Residents absolutely loved this and so did the children, we were then asked by the teachers if we had any residents who were unable to attend today’s performance as the children would like to go and sing to them in their room. Residents were so happy and excited.

Residents Honour the Fallen

Today we had arranged for the Royal British Legion and Salvation Army to come down to Park View and do a service including 2 minutes silence the last post. We believe that the residents would attend a remembrance parade so we brought it to them.

Terry Woolstol who is one of our residents stood with the royal British legion and also laid a reef. Terry is an ex para trooper so this meant  a lot to him to be able to do. Residents was wrapped up in coats scarfs and blankets to come out and join in with this, staff also came out from all different departments including the office staff who came along and read the poem Flanders field.

Those who could not came out watched this from the windows at the community. Once the service was finished both the royal British legion and salvation army came in for a cup of tea sandwiches and cake and to mingle with the residents on ground floor, After around half an hour I took the royal British legion up to meet residents in their communities which was such a high, residents were so  happy all smiling shaking hands with our guests and asking questions and thanking them for their service.

All really enjoyed the service and both the Royal British legion and salvation army have said they would like to come back and do this again next year.

Open Day Entertainment

Johnny Laurence came along and performed to the residents who joined the singing, dancing, clapping hands and waving arms. Everyone there had a wonderful time. Johnny performed all the old favourites and gets the residents to join in.
