Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Pudding Club

On a wet afternoon here in Waltham Abbey, we enjoyed a taste of Italy.

Our residents, family members and staff enjoyed Tiramisu and Orange Polenta Cake, which was prepared by our talented chef Sam.

Having a theme also gave conversation of all the places our residents had visited and more ideas for future Pudding Club events. To join us and taste the delights of our desserts, we meet on the last Thursday of each month at 3pm in our cafe.

103rd Birthday For William Continued

Yesterday our lovely resident William celebrated his 103rd Birthday and celebrated in style.

William's Birthday started with a visit from 30 children from Hillhouse Primary school who sung Happy Birthday to him.

William had one special request, which was to have dressed crab for lunch as he had never tried it! Well of course our chef was only to happy to help and William tucked into his special crab lunch as requested!

William then spent the afternoon surrounded by his family as members of the public continued to drop cards off throughout the day. As his special day drew to a close. William sat opening a whopping 132 Birthday cards from various people in our community. Many of whom he has never met. William even received a card from Australia.
