Activities at Pentland View Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Pentland View Care Home

Virtual afternoon at the theatre

Residents across our services had a fantastic time enjoying the virtual screening of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Frank Spencer’s comical misadventures had everyone laughing and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and a special thanks to The Barn Theatre in the Cotswolds for bringing this stage adaptation of the beloved sitcom to our screens.

Music to the soul

Throughout September, we were lucky to have three musical guests in to play for us.

We enjoyed Hugh Dent into sing his traditional favourites, Alan Small in to play the accordion, and local musician and friend Robbie MacDonald in to play as well. Everyone enjoys the live music, and as you can see, they love to get up and have a dance too! We had so much fun singing and dancing along.

Fun in the sun

With the mini heatwave we had recently, residents enjoyed getting out and about and enjoying it while it lasted! From spending time in our beautiful garden, to trips in the mini-bus, residents sure knew how to make the most of the beautiful days.

In the garden, residents enjoyed singing and dancing to music specially curated by themselves to our Spotify account, and also a wee session of relaxing yoga!

Residents also hit the road and enjoyed trips to the library and to local sweetie and ice cream shop, Banjo’s. The ice creams were then enjoyed by the sea, as was only right in such a glorious day!!

On the road....

Willie and Sandra were delighted to join residents from our sister home in Wick on a trip to Inverness. After a lovely meal in Weatherspoon’s, it was time to do some shopping!

While the gentlemen headed to Howden’s garden Centre, the ladies were off to Leakey’s Books and the had a lovely coffee outside Miele’s Gelateria. Next stop was The retail centre for the Works, as the ladies still needed to find their books! Here, they happily took advantage of the multi-buy deals and left very happy customers.

Finally, after a stop at Costa, we boarded the mini bus once again and headed home. It was lovely watching the scenery and chatting about it along the way.

Cornish Seal Sanctuary

A big thank you to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for the fantastic live virtual event today!

Residents across our services loved seeing the seals up close and learning about the incredible work the sanctuary does to protect them and other wildlife in Cornwall as well.

Everyone truly enjoyed the experience.

You Take the High Road

The Thurso and District Pipe Band visited recently and played for the residents in our lovely garden. As they played in the garden, all residents throughout the building could hear and enjoy, as well as watch from their windows. Residents in the main lounge enjoyed the music so much that they were up and on their feet, having  a dance and making for a jolly time!
