Activities at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.

Hello, I am Lisa and I have recently joined the team at Plas y Dderwen. I have worked in the care sector since 2009 and I have a passion for working with people.
Although I am new to this role, I have always enjoyed being creative and bringing a smile and a sense of joy to others.
I am looking forward to developing an Activities programme that will bring enrichment to residents' lives through meaningful Activities.

Life at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
Pamper Day
There were lots of glamorous residents at Plas-Y-Dderwen as our visiting hairdresser had a very busy day. All our residents love that we have our own salon and they all looked fabulous. We also use the salon for manicures another very popular pamper session.
Celebrating 20 years of service
Congratulations to our Head Chef Simon is celebrating 20 years’ service. Simon is an integral part of our team and manages the kitchen with passion and pride. He is a great leader of the Catering Team and always goes above and beyond for our residents. Thank you Simon for all of your hard work and commitment.
Special Christmas Visitors
Residents enjoyed a magical visit from Carmarthenshire Party Ponies and Therapy Pets. Belle the Pony and Skyla the giant fluffy rabbit brought so much joy to our residents today, they even dressed for the occasion! What a fantastic Christmas treat thank you so much to the team for taking so much time with the residents.

Singing for Dementia
Every other Tuesday our residents have been enjoying afternoons at Babell Church, coming together as a group, Singing for Dementia.
Children in Need
All Staff, Residents and Families came together to raise money for Children in Need by completing and exercise bike challenge, continuous for 12 hours, raising a wonderful £163.65 for Children in Need. Well Done all!
