Activities at Rose Water Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Georgia Williams

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Georgia and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Water Place.

I have done various roles in the care industry from being a carer, to activities, to administrator.  I have enjoyed every role but I feel activities is my calling.  I love making our residents smile and enjoy spending time with them and listening to every life story and ambition.

During Covid, I won a regional and national award for activities and had the opportunity to have afternoon tea in the House of Lords.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

DECAF Christmas Event

Georgia our Activities Coordinator took our residents out on the minibus to Valley Park School for their DECAF Christmas event. The pupils at the school performed a show for all the guests from a mini panto, to a Christmas choir and even some of the pupils played their musical instruments.Along with this they served the residents with delicious cheese board before it was eyes down for a fun game of bingo.

Our 1st Christmas Market

It was a delight to see our residents exploring the different stalls and indulging in hearty festive snacks and drinks. They even got to meet our celebrities from the North Pole, Father Christmas and Mrs Claus!

A Christmas Carol

We got in the Christmas spirit by having the A Christmas Carol panto come to visit for the residents. It was such a lovely afternoon and great to watch a traditional Christmas panto. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Christmas spirit. Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year and our fantastic residents love to get festive so we’ve pulled out all the stops. It is so lovely to see them all getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s definitely our favourite time of year.

Reminiscence Baking

Our residents enjoy the baking activities as it reminds them of when they used to bake for their families. This time our residents baked a syrup sponge cake.

A Right Royal Knees Up!

Never known to miss a chance for a celebration, the residents marked the King’s birthday on November 14th with a right royal party with Jasmine and Doug singing some old fashioned London songs.King Charles has had a very difficult year with his illness so we all wanted to celebrate his birthday and wish him well. It is wonderful to see him up and about again and we hope his recovery continues to go well.

Fun time with Kiddleydivey

We were pleased to have Claire back from Kiddleydivey. The residents have so much fun whilst stretching their muscles and aiding their mobility at the same time.
