Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home

Nest Nursery

Nest Nursery

The Nest Nursery joined us at Rothsay Grange for some games and carols on Monday 4th December. They played the giant balloon game, which they all found extremely fun, followed by the parachute game, before stopping for a quick drink and a biscuit with residents. We finished off the morning listening to some Christmas carols sung beautifully by the children and their leaders.

,

Christmas Carol Concert

On Sunday 3rd December, residents enjoyed an afternoon with the Salvation Army Band with their Christmas carol concert. There were some readings, poems and even some jokes. Everyone who attended enjoyed the afternoon singing along. We finished off with a hot cuppa and a mince pie whilst we sat round chatting.

Meeting the Alpacas

We were joined by Wendy and her alpacas once again. Residents got to meet the alpacas and ask various questions about them. Everyone really enjoyed meeting them; the alpacas even managed the lifts and visited some less mobile residents on other floor of the home. It was a delightful afternoon.

4Toons Returns

Once again, we had the fabulous 4Toons join us here at Rothsay Grange, although, unfortunatel,y there was only 3 Toons on this occasion. Anyway, with their fun factor, they entertained with songs and games, getting the residents involved. We even finished with some Christmas carols and songs.

Wear it Pink

Wear it Pink

On Wednesday 22nd November, we celebrated Wear it Pink Day for breast cancer awareness. Some staff and residents joined in by wearing – you guessed it – pink, with a prize going to the pinkest person, which happened to be a resident.

We welcomed the local Boots beauty team in the afternoon, who gave everyone who wanted a lovely facial and a makeover. Residents who got involved enjoyed being pampered and they all received a little make up gift from our guests.

8th Anniversary

Rothsay Grange celebrated their 8th Birthday party on 20th November with some great entertainment from Cosmic Sparkle, one of Rothsay’s favourite entertainers. We had a good sing along to some classics, finishing the party off with the traditional 'Happy Birthday' song that everyone. Robyn blew the candles out so we could all indulge in some birthday cake after supper.
