Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Golden Oldies Variety Show

Here at Sherwood Court we had an afternoon with 'The Golden Oldies', who performed there variety show. What fun! From Abba to belly dancing, residents and family members said it’s the best show here they had seen! Every one took to the floor for a dance and we all had a good sing-song we can’t wait for the next time.

Happy 101st Birthday Margaret

Here at Sherwood court every Birthday is special, but this one is extra special! 101 years old for our beautiful Margaret. Margaret has had a busy day with a pamper in the morning and lots of family and friends to visit then all the staff got together to wish Margaret a very special happy birthday.

Ascot Ladies Day

Here at Sherwood Court we like to celebrate in style, with an Ascot ladies day party. The prosecco was flowing for all and they enjoyed ice creams in the beautiful gardens of Sherwood court. Music was playing and we also had a sing song, reminiscing on summer days and fun with the family and friends.

Father’s Day

Father’s Day at Sherwood Court was celebrated in style as it should be with a special lunch menu chosen by the men.

As part of our community engagement we are very lucky to have Ribbleton Avenue Methodist Junior school who brought all of male residents a father’s day gift, full of treats and a lovely handmade paper man.  We would like to thank the school and all the staff for their kindness and thoughtfulness to our residents . Robert said it was a lovely surprise and  was very touched.

Fun was had by all.

Thank you to all the staff for making the day.

RAF Hendon

Across our services we had a lovely time joining Rhiannon Watkinson from the RAF Museum London for an interactive talk exploring the exciting and innovative aviation history of Hendon.

Our residents were able to learn about the first flights from the fields at Hendon, the creation of the London Aerodrome and Battle of Britain pilots who flew from RAF Hendon.

The talk also included photographic and film material from the Museum’s archive. Residents across our homes had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the virtual experience.

Shopping at Asda

This morning at Sherwood Court, Glenys accompanied me on a trip to Asda. We had such a good time laughing and joking around in the supermarket chatting away with anyone and picking up the shopping for the home. It’s the little things like this that make such a big difference in daily life and living a normal day doing things that we would all usually do.
