Activities at Sherwood Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our Activities Coordinator is constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. We have regular outings in the mini bus to nearby places of interest including local garden centres and parks as well as musicians and entertainers. We also hold bingo evenings which are helped out by our residents families. We also have a local pub nearby which the residents enjoy visiting from time to time for a spot of lunch or sitting in the gardens in the summer time. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests as best is possible. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Sherwood Lodge Care Home

Comic Relief
Today at Sherwood Lodge we have been raising money for Comic Relief Day.
Comic Relief was launched in 1985 and is celebrating its 39th year.
At Sherwood Lodge we like to be different so today we had a pie stall, with a twist. Instead of pies you can buy and eat we had ...... cream pies.
And the reason for this ? To pie Senior staff and the Manager
Staff made cash contributions for residents and themselves to buy a cream pie ....and they all snapped up the chance to take part surprisingly
Senior carer Claire and General Manger Tracy were nominated to be put in the stocks to take on the challenge.
It was great fun and we were happy and very grateful to raise over £55 for a special cause.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations
Residents at Sherwood Lodge celebrated St Patrick's day, The home was decorated with shamrocks made by the residents in a arts and crafts group making bunting for all around the home ,listening to Irish music, and a wonderful Irish strew was put on by the chef.
St Patrick's day actually observe the death of St Patrick the patron Saint of Ireland, but the day has come to be a huge celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

Wishing the King a Speedy Recovery
When His Royal Highness, King Charles, shared with the world he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, to raise awareness, our residents wanted to send him their love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Residents handmade a special get well soon card to send off to Buckingham Palace.
Yesterday they were absolutely delighted to receive a card of thanks from the King himself
The card was shown around the home to all our residents who were overjoyed to receive his thanks for their efforts.
His majesty said, "This brings you my warmest thanks for your incredibly thoughtful message. It was wonderfully generous of you to take the trouble to write as you did, and your kind words were most uplifting.
Residents were overwhelmed with his kind words.

Anyone for a Mocktail?
As part of nutrition and hydration week we have been promoting the importance of keeping well hydrated with a little holiday theme twist with our Mocktails.
With stripey straws and cocktail umbrellas and a sprig of fruit garnish the home brought the holiday feel into Sherwood Lodge.
From blue lagoons to margaritas our residents couldn't wait to give them a try.
Poor hydration in the elderly can lead to multiple health conditions including deterioration in mental function, enhanced confusion and increase the risk of skin damage and deterioration.
As you can see our residents thoroughly enjoyed them
