Activities at Southerndown Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Stacey Davies
I have worked at Southerndown since 2013. I enjoy providing various activities for our residents with the team, such as gardening groups, trips out in the mini bus around the Cotswolds, quiz days and entertainment performances. Amongst the many things we enjoy doing, part of my role within the home is to ensure all residents are provided the purpose in life to fulfil day to day stimulation, whether that be together, or creating individual activity to those that prefer.

Carers Week
Here at Southerndown, we have been celebrating Carers Week.
We would all like to say a big thank you to our fantastic Carers for all their hard work and dedication.
International Nurses' Day
Southerndown staff and residents have been celebrating International Nurses' Day; we would all like to say a big thank you to our amazing nurses for the wonderful work that they do!
Bonfire Night
Residents and staff have been very busy creating their very own guys for bonfire night. As you can see, all the hard work and effort really paid off.
Southerndown also hosted their very own sparkler party, which went off with a bang.
Southerndown Olympics
Southendown held their very own Olympic Games in the form of an Olympic relay challenge.
Residents and staff teamed up to complete a team relay that stretched 7.6 Miles.
What a fantastic achievement, and it was such a fun way to spend the day. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
Friendship Day
Southerndown celebrated Friendship Day in style by holding a wonderful tea party.
We decided to make the tea party extra special by baking cake pops for our friends in the home.
What a lovely way to spend the day and make new friends.
Open Day at Southerndown
We had a very special visit from Farms 2 Ewe on National Care Home Open Day.
Residents and staff had a lovely day with a Shetland pony called Sweetie, three Pigmy goats, two sheep, four beautiful ducks and, of course, the rabbits.
All of the farm animals were a huge hit with everyone.
