Activities at The Spires Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Angie Smith

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Angie and I am an activities coordinator here at The Spires. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.

We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends.

Life at The Spires Care Home

Choir Practice

Even with social distancing choir practice can be enjoyed.  Music and singing is a wonderful way to spend time with friends and enjoy an afternoon.

Coronation Party

Residents enjoyed reminiscing and celebrating the anniversary of our Queen's coronation with afternoon tea in the gardens.

Residents Water Feature

The resident's committee requested a water feature from their funds raised from events in 2019. It is situated in our courtyard garden for all to enjoy.

Birthday Celebrations

Gwen enjoyed her Birthday with her friends in the home, they enjoyed bucks fizz tipple and a delicious cake made by our chef.  They followed this by chatting in the sunshine in the courtyard garden.

VE Day Heart

The team wanted to show their respect and thanks to all who served in the war and supported the war effort in so many ways.  The gesture of the heart was a fitting tribute.
