Activities at St Thomas Care Home
Our activities coordinator is dedicated to organising meaningful activities on an individual and group basis to fulfill the daily needs of our residents, as we understand how important mental and physical stimulation is for their wellbeing. Our activities are available to everyone who wants to take part and there is something different going on everyday. We often go out on day trips including visiting shopping centres, garden centres, evening meals at the local pubs, visits to local schools and also coffee mornings with other care homes. We have a wide range of entertainers that visit us at our home including musical therapists, Millers Ark Farm, pantomimes as well as our local salvation army and lots more. We encourage families to join us on trips out and also in home activities such as baking, arts and crafts, dancing and singing, we believe this is a great way for our residents to live an active and fun life here with us at St Thomas.

Life at St Thomas Care Home
Charlie's Café
We are currently undergoing a refurbishment, and the men doing the work decided to take out resident, Charlie, to 'Charlie's Café'. Charlie has been so interested in the work they have done over the past few months and has been checking that they are doing their jobs properly. Residents will definitely miss the workmen when they go!

Cupcake Delivery
Residents, Robert & Arthur, wanted to give back something to our local services, so we delivered cupcakes to Basingstoke Fire Station & Basingstoke Police Station! The Fire Station couldn’t be more thankful; after a day of training, they said cupcakes were just what they needed!
Snow Day
Our Carer, Keri, & helper, Tommy, made some snowmen for residents to see. They loved their creations and decided to name them 'The Builder Snowman' and 'Betty the Snowlady'.
Cake Decorating
Our Head Chef, Nar, baked a cake for us to decorate. We used strawberries, grapes and a sprinkle of Hundreds & Thousands. We all enjoyed our delicious treat that afternoon!
Chocolate Puzzle
We finally finished our puzzle of 1950s chocolate and sweets, which brought back lots of memories. We googled what the chocolate wrappers looked like now to compare. Thanks to one of our relatives for kindly donating this to us.
