Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Long service award celebrations
We would like to congratulate, Janet, our House Keeping Assistant who has worked for us here at Barchester for an incredible 30 years.
Home Manager, Emma and staff surprised Janet with flowers, a special 30 year pin badge and some shopping vouchers to mark this very special milestone in Janet’s career.
Janet said “I come to work to make the residents smile and I leave work every day knowing I’ve done my job, right from the very beginning.”
Congratulations Janet, we’re all very proud of you here at Barchester. You do a wonderful job.
National Trust talk
We had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.
Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters.
The talk was truly enjoyed by all.
Creating posies with florist
We had a lovely time joining Sue and Nicole from Ferndown Florist for an intriguing flower arrangement workshop in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful virtual demonstration and got inspired to create their own flower posies for our Jubilee displays.
Our home was specially decorated for the Jubilee festivities and we all had a great time!
Jubilee celebrations fit for a Queen!
On 3rd June to mark the 70th of our our Queens reign, residents at Beaumont enjoyed a buffet lunch in the garden followed by entertainment from Carla Simpson who had everyone singing, dancing and waving Union Jack flags.
We even had a special visit from Queen Elizabeth the 1st who spared time to come and meet our residents.
It was a wonderful atmosphere in great weather.
Jubilee Preparations
Jubilee fever is well underway here at the Beaumont so over the next week our residents will be busy preparing for the special event.
Today we turned our hands back to our new interest of origami making crowns to be worn over the Jubilee weekend.
Musical Moments at Stamford Bridge Beaumont
It was lovely to welcome Jess from Musical Moments to Stamford Bridge Beaumont this afternoon. Residents enjoyed an afternoon of lots of movement, instruments and music.
Great fun had by all.
