Activities at Tandridge Heights Care Home
Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect our residents interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.
Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!
Kelly Sherwin
I started at Tandridge Heights in 2020. Previous to this, I have been working as a carer sine 2010, which has helped me to understand the needs, wants and the individuality of all of our residents.
My main responsibility is provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents; this helps to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We love to have parties to celebrate birthdays, national days and special occasions.

Life at Tandridge Heights Care Home
Fiona's Farm Therapy
Residents recently enjoyed a visit from Fiona’s Farm therapy, they had the opportunity to hold and pet chickens, rabbits, ducks and guinea pigs.
Pet therapy has been proven to have many health benefits for residents living with Dementia, it can improve mood, nutrition and social interaction, it also has a very calming effect and can help with anxiety. Residents had a lovely afternoon finding out interesting facts about all the animals they interacted with.
Snooker club
Here at Tandridge Heights have started our very own snooker club. Residents have been having a great time playing games of snooker whilst enjoying an ice cold beer in the recent beautiful sunshine. John is currently our undefeated snooker champion.
Flower Arranging
Residents at Tandridge Heights recently enjoyed a creative morning, we held a flower arranging class. Residents created beautiful bouquets of flowers to display in their bedrooms, they took time to choose which colours they wanted and which flowers they felt would work best together. This was a great sensory activity and was well enjoyed by all residents that participated.
Summer BBQ
Tandridge Heights recently held our big annual summer BBQ with residents and their guests, the sun was shining all day and we enjoyed lots of delicious food made by our homes very talented chefs. We also enjoyed glasses of Pimms whilst being serenaded and entertained by the fabulous Jimmy Kent, with his lovely singing and crazy dancing.
Visiting Hever Castle
Residents at Tandridge Heights recently visited Hever Castle, we took a picnic and enjoy the gardens and the beautiful sunshine. Whilst we were there they were holding a vintage car show and Ron was delighted to see a car similar to the one he used to have. We had a lovely day and even enjoyed a few glasses of prosecco with strawberries.
A Visit to Haskins Garden Centre
Residents are loving our regular weekly trips out in to the community. We recently visited Haskins Garden Centre in Crawley and had a delicious lunch in their café. We also chose some beautiful flowers and vegetable plants to grow on our terraces, which are currently having a makeover by our Gardening Club.
Residents are growing tomato plants, a selection of different herbs and we’ve recently planted some honey suckle which we hope will grow over the canopies to help create our sensory areas.
