Activities at Thistle Hill Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Thistle Hill Life Enrichment Team
Ursula and Katie make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Thistle Hill.
They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to the home and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Thistle Hill Care Home
Pumpkin Carving
Residents and loved ones enjoyed carving some pumpkins in preparation for Halloween.
Bundles of Joy
Katie has been at Thistle Hill for 5 years and is leaving us to have her baby, which is due on 12th November. Fingers crossed that it all goes well for her!
Cooking Class
We host cookery classes every Wednesday afternoon, which are very much enjoyed by residents and staff alike.
Archery in the Sun
Residents enjoyed practicing archery during the sunny weather. It was really nice to do something a but different, and residents definitely agreed.
Summer BBQ
We recently hosted a fantastic summer BBQ that was open to everyone. We were joined by residents, staff, friends and family members, who all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Yeadon Farm
Residents and staff enjoyed a day trip out to Yeadon Tarn. Residents very much enjoyed their stroll around the lake, and finished off with a nice coffee.
