Activities at Thistle Hill Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Thistle Hill Life Enrichment Team
Ursula and Katie make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Thistle Hill.
They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to the home and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Thistle Hill Care Home
Sunshine Stroll
A couple of residents enjoyed a nice sunshine stroll through 'Charlotte's Way', our local woodland walk.
Scarborough Trip
We enjoyed a nice stroll along the promenade and rounded off the trip with a fish & chip lunch.
Ready, Aim, Fire!
Lots of residents took part in our archery lessons recently. It was a new and exciting activity at Thistle Hill, and we can't wait to do it again.
50th Birthday Celebrations
We played party games and our kitchen team prepared a massive cake to celebrated Jean's 50th birthday. Friends and family members also stopped by for the occasion. Happy birthday, Jean!
January at Thistle Hill
We kept ourselves really busy throughout January here at Thistle Hill.
We were visited by some meerkats, enjoyed a trip out to the local garden center, were joined by volunteer, Carol, had a coffee morning every Thursday – and much more!
Burns Night
Everyone had a fantastic time celebrating the the works of Robert Burns. We enjoyed a delicious Scottish-themed dinner that included haggis (hats off to our brilliant chefs and their team), topped off with a bagpipe performance by Mhairi Sellar.
