Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home

Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Baking Session

Baking Session

The residents at the home are really excited about our weekly baking sessions. We bake a variety of things including lemon drizzle muffins, cheesecakes, scones and biscuits. We chat about the ingredients included in the cakes and about future ideas for our weekly sessions.

A Furry Friend

A Furry Friend

We have warmly welcomed a new visitor several times over the past few weeks.

This furry scallywag has brought many smiles and much improvement to the well-being of residents, as they fuss and stroke her.

Luna is our new 'Trusted Companion Dog', brought in by her owner, Theresa. She visits Threshfield Court's residents on all floors and communities, enabling everyone who needs it to have some quiet and comfortable cuddles that faithful, furry friends bring.

Luna’s visits are already in the diary, and everyone looks forward to them!

Hart Farm

Hart Farm

At Threshfield Court, we had the pleasure of Hart Farm joining us for a morning of fun. They brought two rabbits, a dog, a pygmy goat, a miniature donkey and an alpaca with them.

All the animals spent time with the residents, who thoroughly enjoyed interacting with them. There was lots of cuddling, laughter and conversation. The alpaca enjoyed the ride in the lift, as it gave him the opportunity to admire himself in the mirror.

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.
