Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Trinity Manor Care Home

PROUD MOMENTS...

Something exciting arrival in the mail recently...

On opening a package addressed to him, our Senior General Manager, Sohail Daniel, was very pleased to receive a special certificate from carehome.co.uk , showcasing our being in the top rated care homes in the South West of England!

Did we happen to mention that we are also rated 10 on carehome.co.uk from receiving some fantastic 5 star, reviews from people who have experienced care from us? Well, we are!

Pictured, is one VERY proud Sohail with his new certificate for the home.

WELL DONE TEAM TRINITY MANOR!!!

WORLD ALZHEIMER'S MONTH

Alzheimer’s one of the most common types of dementia and throughout September it is World Alzheimer’s month…

During this period we, as a home are focusing on how we can learn more about this disease, as well as ensure that those in our care can really live their best possible lives each and every day.

Education is definitely one of the best ways that we can face dementia in all of its forms, head on – So with that in mind, Home Services Advisor, Rebekah Goddard, has been busy making another new friend who we are hoping can help some of our residents, as well as their families, who are living with dementia.

Sally Kendall, an Admiral Nurse, who is funded by the Royal British Legion in partnership with Dementia UK, is able to help provide support and advice for anyone who has a direct link to the armed services. The support she offers is vital and starts from helping a family come to terms with a new diagnosis of dementia, all the way through someone’s journey. Sally can offer an insight into what to expect in future and help with ways to cope.

We were delighted that Sally spent some of her time recently, meeting with Rebekah and discussed some possible ways of collaborating in future.

If you have a link to the military and would like to know more about the support the Admiral nursing team give, then please call: 01823 218 443

Thank you Sally for coming to see us and a big THANK YOU for all the amazing work you do!

A GOOD BOOK...

Did you know that 6th September is National Read a Book Day?

Let’s take a quick peek and see what kinds of books our lovely residents have their noses in…

Whether it’s a novel, local history book, historical romance or simply and interesting gardening magazine, our residents really love a bit of everything, with their interests VERY wide and varied – But that what makes reading so wonderful…the possibilities are endless!

What’s your favourite kind of book?

AND RELAX...

Residents were treated to a spa day recently here at Trinity Manor...

With feet immersed in a relaxing foot spa, whilst fingers also got a lovely soak too, Activities Co-ordinator, Laura was on hand to massage, file and polish and give the residents a truly pampered feel.

With a gorgeous smelling aromatherapy diffuser wafting some wonderful subtle fragrances into the air and the sounds of some calming spa music, what a wonderful way to relax and enjoy an afternoon!

Making new Friends...

We are very excited to announce that we have made some new friends for some wonderful new collaborations…

Many of our residents have links to the RAF in one way or another, or simply love planes. With that in mind, we were delighted to link in with one local group with whom there could be some wonderful mutual benefits.

Activities Co-ordinator Laura, and Home Services Advisor, Rebekah, recently met with the lovely Mike – Warrant Officer in charge from the local 874 - Sherborne Air Cadet Squadron.

As the meeting unfolded, we realised that Mike is very keen for us to link in with the Cadets in future, which we are very eager to see happen.

Watch this space as plans are put into action…

THANK YOU MIKE – We look forward to some exciting new ventures together!

(Laura & Rebekah also found out he is a VERY big Top Gun fan, having seen the new film 18 times!!!)

A Visit to Paddock Gardens

Off on another lovely adventure recently, but where did they go this time?

To the town's Paddock Gardens to explore some of what Sherborne has to offer.

What a delightful time they had, as residents roamed and explored the beautiful area in the middle of our wonderful town. Have you see the Paddock Gardens yet? If not, then you are missing out!
