Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Remember, Remember!

Remember, remember, the 5th of November,

Gunpowder, treason and plot.

I see no reason

Why gunpowder treason

Should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent

To blow up the King and the Parliament

Three score barrels of powder below

Poor old England to overthrow

By God's providence he was catch'd

With a dark lantern and burning match

Holler boys, holler boys, let the bells ring

Holler boys, holler boys

God save the King!

Here are some of our recent visitors from Leweston showing some of our residents how to make origami catherine wheels - What a fabulous job they day - Thank you for your amazing efforts.

The New Guy in Town!

With Guy Fawkes night recently, residents here in the home have been busying themselves with a few traditions...

There was much laughter and fun happening in our cafe recently when everyone was joined by the lovely Poppy, who came across to spend some time with our residents from next door at @Sherborne Girls School.

With Bonfire night on the horizon, they decided to get to work making a traditional guy, so everyone helped to stuff some old jeans and a top and create a lovely looking fella!

He has certainly caused a few of the night staff to jump a little and the residents have a good giggle every time they sit by him - with one saying, 'he looks like he's seen better days!'

Thank you to everyone who helped and thank you, Poppy - It was lovely to have you visit and we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Creepy Capers

On Halloween afternoon over at our sister home, West Abbey Care Centre - Barchester Healthcare, things got a little bit creepy very quickly!

Joining forces for a bit of safety in numbers, some of our lovely residents enjoyed a relaxing, leisurely bus ride out to see our friends over in Yeovil, but they got a little bit of a surprise when they arrived!

The two homes enjoyed some delicious Halloween themed treats and a lovely cuppa, followed by a visit from some very special guests. The homes together were absolutely entralled by who had turned up to see them...

One aptly dressed witch from the fabulous ZooLab, along with some of her wonderful critters and extraordinary creatures arrived at the home, which were then showcased to everyone in the room - some, being much braver than others, holding and stroking them as they learned a little about them all.

Scorpions, snakes, cockroaches and much more! (Clearly our residents are doing their homework ready for a new season of I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE!)

Thank you, Zoo Lab and our lovely friends at West Abbey for a fabulous afternoon - everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Terrific Treating...

With All Hallows Eve recently, Laura & Joe donned their very best Halloween attire to spread a bit of seasonal fun & smiles throughout the home...

There wasn't a trick in sight, as they set about doing some reverse Trick or Treating, knocking on doors throughout the home and not taking away treats, but instead delivering lots of chocolate goodies to all of our residents to enjoy!

There were many delighted folk as they went up and down the corridors distributing their gifts to all they came across.

Treats & smiles galore!

A Huge Congratulations to Sohail!

We are proud to announce that our very own Sohail Daniel has been awarded General Manager of the year at this year’s Barchester Care Awards.

Thousands of nominations were received from our homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Sohail is over the moon to have been named National Winner, beating hundreds of other nominees.

Sohail joined winners from across the UK at a special awards event on the 12th of October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and to receive their awards.

Well done and huge congratulations from everyone at Trinity Manor!

Bollywood Boss!

Recently our residents really enjoyed a session of Bollywood dancing, through the Ooomph on demand system that we can access in our homes...

Activities Assistant, Jo, did a great job ensuring everyone got involved to help with keeping fit, even getting some unsuspecting visitors to join in too, which made it all the more fun!

What did make everyone giggle though, was when Sohail appeared out of the blue, saying, 'Now we're talking!!!' and showed us his very best Bollywood moves!!!

That right there, folks, is why he is Manager of the Year!

Show 'em how it's done, boss!
