Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Trinity Manor Care Home
A Service at the Abbey...
Many of our residents were active church goers prior to moving into our lovely home, so for them to be able to continue going to church, for them is very important…
We are so very lucky here in Sherborne to have such a magnificent place of worship in our midst in, our stunning Abbey, which parts of actually date back to Saxon times in 705 AD!
Our residents, although have their own versions of a service by a visiting vicar, voiced how they might like to actually attend a service down at the abbey, so we researched when they took place and off we went aboard our minibus.
We arrived with half an hour to spare, so everyone enjoyed taking in the magnificence of the building before settling in for the service.
We all agreed it was a wonderful morning, very well spent.
More Tea, Mayor?
The residents were absolutely delighted to recently receive a very special audience with the NEW Mayor of Sherborne, Juliet Pentolfe…
This was a wonderful opportunity for the residents to get to know Juliet a little and listen to a variety of issues currently affecting the town and what sort of things Juliet intends to action during her tenure.
Everyone learned a little about Juliet growing up in Zimbabwe, and how she ended up in local politics in rural Dorset, and we were fascinated to learn about how different life in Zimbabwe was is in comparison to that in Sherborne.
At times it was a little like Prime Minister’s questions, as Juliet fielded a wide variety of queries to do with the local area and we also learned a about what’s actually involved in being part of the local Sherborne Town Council.
We also learned that Juliet is apparently a dab hand at Bridge!
Juliet – It has been our absolute honour and very great pleasure to host you here in our lovely home and we do hope you will come back and see us again very soon. Thank you for your time, which we know our residents have all very much appreciated!
It's Come Home!!!!!
Can you guess what the hot topic of conversation was recently amongst the residents and staff?
Only the football match of the century, that’s what!!!
Didn’t our lionesses do us all proud? Residents and staff couldn’t get enough of talking about the INCREDIBLE outcome of the match, where the ladies team brought home the winning trophy, as they were finally crowned EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS, beating Germany 2-1 after going into extra time!!!
See our very own lions & lionesses pictured here – HEAR THEM ROAR their appreciation!
Exploring Lytes Carey
What a fabulous trip out our residents had recently…
Off on our very own mini-bus with Activities Co-ordinator, Laura at the wheel, our Trinity adventurers went off to explore the beautiful house and gardens over at the glorious Lytes Cary in Somerset and what a wonderful afternoon they all had.
Everyone loved exploring the stunning gardens and soaked in the sunshine and the scenery as they wound their way around this lovely National Trust property.
They even spotted some beautiful butterflies – It was the perfect afternoon, which ended with a cool refreshing drink and cake.
More Trinity Café!
We wanted to share some more lovely pictures from our Trinity Café, which everyone really enjoyed!
Jan McNeill - Entertainer and Speaker who was our Singer for the morning, was such good fun and interacted so well with everyone – we cannot wait to have her back again to regale us all with some more of her wonderful tales…
Enjoy a few more pictures (including a lovely family group with our gorgeous resident, Doris, which shows 4 generations all together again – Doris’ granddaughter was visiting all the way from Australia!).
Another Trinity Café Success!
At our recent Trinity Café there was a wonderful atmosphere…
We welcomed in friends and community members, as well as family to come along and join us for this monthly event, where everyone enjoyed the musical entertainment from the wonderful Jan McNeill - Entertainer and Speaker.
Jan provided us with some wonderful singing, including many a number from yesteryear and also one or two more recent songs – It was the perfect eclectic mix!
Thank you Jan for your brilliant performance and the fabulous anecdotes and name dropping (#sircliffrichard), from your time spent on board the cruise ships – Just fabulous!
Here are just a few images images from a wonderful morning!
