Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Our Shining Star!

OUR SHINING STAR!

Here he is, by popular demand, folks! Our wonderful award winner…

The lovely Phill Sandford, our Head of Maintenance, has been crowned our divisional winner for Health & Safety Champion in the Barchester Healthcare Awards recently, and here he is in all his glory!

Phill was very pleased with himself recently, as he received his new Divisional Winner’s badge and certificate.

Phill will now be invited to attend the winner’s awards ceremony later on in the year, where we are hoping he will be chosen as the overall champion.

Best of Luck, Phill - YOU ARE OUR WINNER!!!!

Garden Patrol...

Residents here at Trinity Manor gathered on mass out in our garden recently, for the very first official Trinity Manor garden club…

What better way to get the club going, than to inspect the gardens in detail and formulate a plan of action!

So with Phill, our lovely Maintenance man leading the way, residents were also joined by our General Manager, Sohail, and our Deputy Manager, Paul, as they surveyed the beautiful Trinity Manor gardens.

Garden club will hopefully be a weekly event here in the home, with residents, visitors and staff all very welcome to come along and join in!

Why not come along and join the green-fingered gang?!

The Gift of Music...

Recently, Trinity Manor took delivery of a very special gift…

Following a new friendship, which has blossomed with the students and staff up at Leweston School, near Sherborne, we were absolutely thrilled when their Music Director, Dr Rachel Milestone, asked us if we would like offer a new home to one of their pianos – Of course, we said YES!

Trinity Manor and the Leweston students will be linking in this new school year in September, when they will come and visit on a semi-regular basis, to entertain, engage and mingle with our residents.

There are many music scholars at the school, many of whom can play piano, so the new gift will hopefully receive much use when entertaining our residents.

We are hoping that any of our residents who once played, may start to tickle the ivories once more, now they have the chance!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Rachel and her lovely daughter, who came to drop off our special present (pictured with Deputy Manager, Paul and one of our lovely residents, Maureen).

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot? Not Here, We're Not!

This horrible sticky heat,

Can be very hard to beat,

But with feet in a pool,

We stay nice and cool.

With ice lollies, you cannot beat!

HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE – Keep drinking, folks!

Our Lolly Dolly on her Trolley!

Another warm day and another ice lolly treat day for our residents…

Back at the helm of the afternoon treat trolley, our lovely Admin Manager once again did the rounds to ensure residents were kept nice and cool with a delicious lolly, an ice cold glass of lemonade, or should they wish, the usual tea, coffee or even a delicious slice of lemon drizzle cake.

The residents are always so very delighted to see Becky, but especially the treats on offer.

Thank you Becky for another wonderful job well done.

We have said it before, and we will say it again: KEEP WELL HYDRATED IN THIS HEAT!

Scrabble & Lollies

FUN FACT: Did you know that the highest possible points which can be legally allowed in a Scrabble match will get you a staggering 1,778 points with the word: OXYPHENBUTAZONE - Meaning: a phenylbutazone derivative C19H20N2O3 having anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects?

Well sadly, none of our residents managed to score quite that highly during a recent Scrabble game here in the Café, but they did have a wonderful afternoon of socialising, chatting and also eating some delicious ice lollies to help them cool off in this heat…

A BIG thank you to our Admin Manager, Becky, who kindly wandered up and down handing out ice lollies to both residents and staff throughout the home, to ensure we kept up the fluid intake and also didn't over heat!

Suffice to say that our staff were also VERY grateful indeed to spend five minutes enjoying this ice cold treat – WELL DESERVED Team Trinity Manor!

DON'T FORGET TO KEEP HYDRATED IN THIS HEAT, FOLKS!
