Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Nutrition & Hydration Week

What a fabulous week we have had as residents have been involved in may fun activities promoting Nutrition & Hydration week.

Healthy and nutritious snacks are a must for a balanced and healthy lifestyle, and as part of this week residents were treated to a wide variety of healthy snacks and drinks to promote wellbeing.

Hydration, is obviously of great importance to us all and regular fluid intake is crucial to our general health.

They discussed the importance of a good hearty breakfast (and may be a good full English for an occasional treat!), as well as enjoying making and eating a picnic for a special Global Talking Tea Party, to bring everyone together.

Residents also enjoyed sampling some delicious fruit & berries and because of this, we have now dubbed it Fruity Friday!

There was smoothie Saturday, where a variety of healthy smoothies were served with some delicious danish pastries.

But one of the most popular themed days this week was definitely, Sunday Sundaes!

Crafty Residents!

Some our our lovely residents recently spent an afternoon up on our top floor, wiling away the hours with a spot of card making!

They busily enjoyed beavering away making some wonderful personalized designs to send ready to send to family.

It would appear we have got some very creative people in our midst.

Great job ladies!

Inspiring Ladies...

On international women's day here at Trinity Manor, there was much chatter amongst our residents over some noteworthy females...

After a quiz about some incredible women throughout history; Amelia Erhart, Marie Curie Mother Theresa etc., we asked some of our residents & staff to tell us which women in their lives have inspired them the most... The answers were varied and occasionally amusing!

Nescafe Masterclass

Recently here at Trinity Manor residents very much enjoyed an afternoon learning about a much loved, household coffee name, as they were treated to a LIVE coffee masterclass courtesy of Catherine Woodruff and Paul Vernon from one of the world’s most iconic brands, Nescafé.

Residents were taken back to1938 when Nescafé started its life, and learned about how the company had grown to its current size, as well as how they sustainably source and farm their coffee beans.

After a this wonderful insight and a virtual tour of one of the Nescafé factories, residents were then shown how to make coffee cocktails, some even got involved themselves in making some iced coffee to enjoy!

Celebrating the Written Word!

Books are something that have captured the imagination of many since man first put pen to paper, and in honour of World Book Day here at Trinity Manor, our residents celebrated by making some wonderful bookmarks to celebrate the occasion.

With an obligatory cup of tea on the go, some of our lovely residents gathered in our top floor dining room for a bit of crafting. Some opted to get creative with stickers, some designed their own from scratch and some did a bit of everything!  Busy they were, as they made bookmarks for family, friends and grandchildren, as well as for themselves!

Everyone also discussed some of their favourite reads, from Oliver Twist, The Lion,The Witch & The Wardrobe, Wuthering Heights, Treasure Island, Beatrix Potter or even the epic Tolstoy novel, War & Peace. It was also decided that we are going to be starting a monthly book club - what a great idea for all!
