Activities at Wadhurst Manor Care Home

On a weekly basis we have many visitors to the home from the people like the University of the Third age and local small animal farms, who bring in their chickens and sheep. We also like to go out shopping and on day trips to local garden centres and when the weather is good picnics and tours of the beautiful local countryside. We have speciality days at the home which could be a theme of a country, or for specific times of year, including Halloween, Bonfire Night or Christmas. We have card games and art classes and a serious knitting team in the home who produce blankets and premature baby clothes for the local maternity unit.

Zoe Aldea

Activities Lead

Hi, my name is Zoe and I am the Activities Lead at Wadhurst Manor.

I used to work with veterans for the Royal British Legion, and as an Art Studio Lead for a wonderful charity that built a village for people with learning disabilities.

I believe in the healing power of art, I feel strongly about building confidence and  the wellness of our residents. My hobbies include Asian art and philosophy, acupuncture, yoga and martial arts. I believe art is a bridge that unites everyone no matter the race, beliefs or religion.

Life at Wadhurst Manor Care Home

Spring has Sprung

We are all really enjoying the fact we can get out in our beautiful garden. While away the afternoon with weeding, potting new donated plants from the community and generally just enjoy it. Keeping our fingers crossed for plenty more of these days in the months to come.

Celebrating Success

We are lucky enough to have wonderful staff here at Wadhurst Manor. Daily they go over and above to look after not only our residents but every element of the running of the home. We always make sure that they know how much they are valued and needed here. Every month four staff members receive certificates and vouchers to brighten their day.

Pamper Day

As the hairdresser is unable to come to us at the moment its all hands on deck to make sure our ladies are still being pampered. One of our carers has now doubled up as the in house hairdresser. There is no end to our staff's talents.

Creative new pastimes.

Our resident ambassador is not one to sit around, he loves to be busy, so he has taken to making these lovely string bags whilst indoors at the moment. Armed with lots of string and the sun on his back he is a happy man. He is perfecting his new art and then plans to share his talent with the rest of the home. We are hoping to make lots of them so when the community market starts again in the village we can head down there and sell our wares.

Simple Pleasures

A cup of tea, sunshine, some delicious cake and a good friend to have a natter with, is sometimes all it takes to have a really good day.

Spring Flower Delivery

As the local florist had to close their doors. They wanted to brighten our residents day with a bunch of beautiful spring time daffodils for everyone's room. They really did make everyone smile.
