Activities at The Warren Care Home
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at The Warren Care Home
Garden Party
The first opportunity we could, we arranged a welcome back garden party for residents' friends and family. We had a BBQ, tea/coffee and soft drinks, garden games, consisting of Connect Four, Giant Jenga, garden draughts and tin can alley. These were well received by our guests of all ages.
Rob Thompsett, who has entertained us via Zoom during lockdown, attended in person and entertained us with his music. We arranged a tombola which was enjoyed by all. All of the table centre pieces were made by our residents which their loved ones were able to take home as a memento of the day.
Karaoke Party
We sang our little hearts out, had drinks, snacks and singalong. This is the first time some of our residents had done this before and they really enjoyed it.
Anyone for Tennis?
When rain stops play, we bring tennis inside… We held a residents vs staff tournament, as well as a resident vs resident competition. We all had great fun, and there was a lot of running after the ball. Our General Manager even got involved and played the winner.
Dotty for Pottery
We had a caddy from Dotty Pottery and designed our own coasters to keep. They all had such wonderful designs. Once glazed and fired the colours popped and they all looked wonderful. A perfect little keepsake!
Ladies Day
The Grand National is once a year, so we choose to mark this event with our very own Ladies Day. Residents wore hats and cravats, drank sparkling wine and ate fancy cakes with their tea. We placed bets, cheered the horses on and had a wonderful afternoon.
A Bit of Decorating
Spring was well and truly in the air today at The Warren. We decorated our season tree into this beautiful cherry blossom tree. With shades of pinks and greens, it really did look stunning in the lounge.
