Activities at The Warren Care Home
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.
Kirstie Bush
My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home
Employee of the Month - June
The award went to our Head of Maintenance, Nathan Kidd, for his hard work and dedication to the home. Nathan was awarded his certificate by General Manager, Tracey Cumby, and resident, Peggy, who has always been a big fan of Nathan’s.
Elvis is in the building!
The second visit from “ELVIS” this year took place on Friday evening of the 30th June between the hours of 7pm to 9.30pm. As always this was a great evening of entertainment together with Pizza and Chips not forgetting the raffle of course. We’re already looking forward to his next visit in September.
Giovanni Entertains
On Monday 26th June we saw one of our regular entertainers, Giovanni, at The Warren for the afternoon. He sang and played to the residents which they thoroughly enjoyed as usual and they joined in with the singing. As you can imagine, we all like our music events here and always look forward to them.
Mystery Tour
The mini bus was out again today (22nd June) this time on a Mystery Tour which saw us going round the local country lanes, some with grass growing up the middle of the road, much to the residents’ amusement! We found ourselves at Horstead Mill, then on to the green at Coltishall near the river for a cup of tea and biscuits. From here we went to Belaugh and another stop by the river, then to Ashmanhaugh and over to Neatishead and finally to Horning to see another part of the river before arriving back at The Warren for tea. This was another much enjoyed afternoon out.
Southwold and Reedham Ferry
On a lovely warm and sunny 21st June saw The Warren mini bus fire up and make its way to Southwold for Fish & Chips at the harbour followed by a cup of tea and a very welcome ice cream. We then made our way home via Reedham Ferry. A very enjoyable day was had by our residents, so much so that they would like to go again before the end of the season.
Long Service Award
Our Chef, Michelle Smith, was presented with her 10 Year Long Service Award by Operations Manager, Riet Jones. Well done, Michelle!
