Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Live Music Entertainment

Marcello joined us again this month to provide Live Music Entertainment for us. Our residents had a blast, singing, swaying along to the music, and even dancing!

We had a variety of songs, from 'Devil in Disguise' to 'Is This The Way To Amarillo'.

We had lots of show-rounds of prospective residents' friends and families. They had a tour round our home, spoke to some of our staff, and learnt about our extraordinary Life-Enrichment Programme. Those who came during our entertainment were welcomed into the Dining Room to be part of our experience.

Rutland Water

Today some of our residents embarked on an adventure over to explore Rutland Water, Oakham.

Our residents had a fabulous time travelling on the home’s minibus; they’ve enjoyed a day, full of tranquillity and walks, followed by a scrumptious picnic provided by our amazing chefs and of course some ice cream.

We were able to explore the local wildlife, which everyone found fascinating. Using the Birdwatching hides, we named lots of different birds near the water.

A lovely day was had by all.

67th Wedding Anniversary

Our lovely resident - Norma - had a big day celebrating her 67th Wedding Anniversary with her husband, Cecil!

This morning, they were greeted with a decorated private lounge with banners and balloons. They were both offered hot drinks and a mid-morning snack. During this time, they opened their Anniversary Cards from us and their friends and families, and we presented them with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a box of truffle chocolates.

This afternoon, they then shared a private 1:1 dinner together, enjoying wonderful food cooked by our fantastic chefs. They were also presented with a cake in celebration.

Mojo Arts and Crafts

Today was our monthly visit from Mojo! Each month, we have a very special guest, who comes and leads an interactive Arts and Crafts session with our residents in the Activities Room.

Today, our theme was Fairies down the bottom of the garden. Our residents had a lovely time painting and utilising their creative side.

Encore Dance Academy

This Morning at Werrington Lodge we had Encore Dance Academy come in to provide a seated dance session with us.

The residents love Sally coming in to get their groove on, we always have lots of laughter and smiles.

Thank you Sally for everything you do for our residents.

Eye Spy

This afternoon at Werrington Lodge, we gathered round in the Kingfisher Lounge for a game of Eye Spy. We were very high-spirited today!

Having a look round the room, residents took their time having a go to say 'Eye Spy with my little eye... something beginning with ‘_' whilst the others had to guess what the object is.

We had numerous objects used, including: fireplace, bookcase, picture, flowers and fire exit.
