Activities at Wheatlands Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Wheatlands Care Home
Bingo
Who doesn’t love an afternoon of bingo? Picture bingo as our dementia friendly alternative of the classic game. Eyes down!
Debbie comes to sing
The beautiful Debbie came to entertain us what better way to spend a Tuesday afternoon? There was lots of singing, dancing, smiles and laughter we all enjoyed it so much.
Church Visit
We visited our local church today for a new monthly ploughman’s lunch. It was so nice to take the residents out in the minibus again and everyone, including the staff had a great time connecting with the local community.
Lemmie visits
We had a lovely visit from our Activities coordinator’s dog, Lemmie. As you can see from his bib he rocks and the residents definitely thought so too.
Walking Club
In August we took our walking club down to the local town for a cup of tea and cake. We all had a lovely time and the weather stayed beautiful.
Jubilee Celebrations
We were so excited to be able to host a Big Afternoon Tea here at the Wheatlands care home, with families and friends of our wonderful residents booking in to eat with us at our beautifully set tables and decorated living spaces. There were tombola’s, games, stalls and raffles for everyone to join in with and we have had so much positive feedback from families and friends saying what an enjoyable event it was. Special thanks goes out to two of our amazing staff, Donna (activities) and Joel (carer) who made the event extra special by dressing up as the Queen and her Prince!
