Activities at Wheatlands Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Wheatlands Care Home
Mothers Day
For our Mother’s Day celebrations this year, we got creative making our very own Mother’s Day banners for both of our units. Judith here was so pleased with the results and was happy to hold it up high, proud of all of our hard work we achieved together. We love creative arts and crafts sessions like this here at the Wheatlands, as it encourages use of creativity and imagination, dexterity and cognitive functions and is also great fun!
Men's Club
This is a photo from our men's club we make sure the activities are person-centered and engaging for all of our lovely gentlemen residents. Here Reg is having a game of dice and numbers, an engaging and competitive game that all our residents enjoy, but which the men’s club have taken a shine to during their meetings.
Birthday celebrations
Residents and staff celebrated Vera Lynn’s Birthday in style with a good old sing along to all the classics. Our residents received medals for their fantastic singing.
Pancake Fun
Our residents and staff gathered eagerly for the much anticipated pancake tossing event of the season, our residents were heads and shoulders above the staff!
St Patrick's Day
Residents celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style at Wheatlands; we covered our home in flags and bunting, our residents really got into the spirit. The best part was the potato bowling and the beautiful Irish Stew!
International Day of Women and Girls in Science
We celebrated International Day of Women and Girls in Science with a few science experiments that blew our mind. Our residents had a themed discussion, which was enjoyed by all, especially our science fans at the home.
