Activities at White Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Life at White Lodge Care Home

National Tea Day

Everything stopped for tea recently as we enjoyed National Tea Day at White Lodge, fetching out our best china and enjoying a selection of teas and cakes. Nothing beats a cuppa and chat with friends!

Gorgeous hairstyles

Many thanks to Jenny, our fabulous in-house hair stylist, who has worked her magic and made White Lodge residents feel wonderful, with new colours, cuts and perms. We are delighted we have been able to welcome Jenny back, working with Covid-safe processes, to help our ladies and gents look their best for Christmas and the New Year.

Beautiful festive cakes

There was lots of creativity at White Lodge today as residents enjoyed some cake decorating. They iced a beautiful gingerbread house then made two snow-dusted yule logs. Very pretty and almost too good to eat. Well done, ladies!

Kind greetings from St Francis' pupils

Thank you to the pupils of St Francis C of E Taw Hill School for the beautiful and creative Christmas cards they sent to residents at White Lodge care home. We are all very grateful and touched by the children’s kindness and the work they put into their cards. White Lodge residents enjoyed reading the messages. We miss the children coming to see us this year but hope 2021 will bring happy visits from the younger generation again.

Thank you to our local GP surgeries

We wanted to thank our local GP surgeries for supporting White Lodge during a difficult year. One our the White Lodge residents, Peter, helped our new Activities Assistant, Martine, to make up these lovely little hampers as a gesture of our appreciation.

Our annual Santa walk

Residents at White Lodge felt very festive as they greeted the Christmas season on their annual Santa walk. They completed a circular walk around the beautiful grounds and gardens at White Lodge, which included views of the surrounding countryside, admiring the trees and doing a little bird-spotting. Everyone built up a hearty appetite for the Christmas party that followed. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
