Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

LOCAL CARE HOME CELEBRATES OPENING NEW NURSING WING
On Thursday 19 January, staff and residents from Windmill Manor Care Home in Oxted along with Councillor Brian Black came together to officially open the home’s new nursing wing, Windmill Way, which will offer nursing care alongside its existing dementia care provision.
Windmill Manor was so lucky to also receive a visit from a Macmillan Cancer Support representative, Joy Sanders. A truly amazing lady who was kind enough to say a few words and share experiences.
Windmill Manor will continue to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer this year. We are pleased to announce that our General Manager Ellie Lyons will be running the London Marathon to raise much needed funds for the charity
The home currently provides top quality person-centred care for residents living with dementia but will now have the capacity to offer complex nursing care in addition, thanks to its new bespoke nursing wing, which is named Willow Way.
Ellie Lyons, General Manager at Windmill Manor said: “We’re so excited to officially open our new nursing wing which will allow us to help more members of the community here in Oxted that need our care.”
Councillor Brian Black commented: “This is such a fantastic resource, I am delighted to be here to open the new nursing wing. The team here at Windmill Manor do such an amazing job caring for the residents here, I know they will offer wonderful nursing care too.”

MANS BEST FRIEND
A Pet Dog by their very presence can help reduce the effects of dementia -anxiety, agitation, irritability, depression, and loneliness. By their friendliness and non-threatening way, pets can help a dementia patient be more interactive, when sometimes they are not able to do so in social settings with other adults.
