Activities at Worplesdon View Care Home
Activities at Worplesdon View
The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

Life at Worplesdon View Care Home
The Magic Table
Our home, which provides expert dementia care to residents, has acquired a Magic Table that has allowed our residents of all capacities and mobilities to enjoy sensory experiences without ever leaving their rooms. Residents have shown absolute delight when playing the games and it has been a real joy to see the increased interaction from people.
Pancake Day
Residents were amazed to see a variety of fresh, homemade pancakes from our Head Chef with different toppings and fruits to choose from, such as syrup, jam and the classic sugar and lemon to make sure that there was a topping for everyone.
Shrove Tuesday has sparked many conversations about the past and how the residents and their families have celebrated this important event. After the delicious pancakes, the residents learned about the different traditions held around the world on Pancake Day.
Love is in the Air
Residents at the home were treated with a single red rose to enjoy on Valentine's Day while reminiscing over a collage of Residents Wedding photos.
Pampering Day
A Body Shop at Home representative, Maria Smith, kindly donated a hamper of treats for our hard-working staff to receive a well-earned pamper and relax! Gifts included hand sanitiser, hand cream, bubble bath and calming balm.
Walking on Snow
Residents at Worplesdon View enjoyed the snow that has been fallen this last days. Residents at the home enjoyed walking on snow, and it meant so much to them, like a walk again down to memory lane.
Christmas Donations
We recently presented our Christmas food hamper to Woking Refugees. We welcomed Tony Shutt, Vicar at St Mary's, with some bread and mince pies cooked by our Head Chef, Kathleen Foster.
Worplesdon View has built up excellent reputations within its local community, regularly holding events and activities for residents and surrounding neighbours.
We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities.
