Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

Out And About In Woodbridge

This week we've been out and about in Woodbridge enjoying the beautiful weather and exploring the area. We have visited the Tide Mill museum and several of the lovely cafes that Woodbrige has to offer.

Using our minibus to get out and about is an important part of our activities programme and we always want to explore new locations with our residents.

Garden Concert

Our Garden Concert was a roaring success!

With performances from staff, residents and professional musicians alongside a great BBQ and wonderful support from the local community our Garden Concert was a brilliant afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the afternoon. All the money raised is being donated to the Forget Me Not Cafe in Kesgrave.

Chelsea Flower Show Inspired Gardening

The green-fingered residents of Alice Grange have been inspired by watching the Chelsea Flower Show to get out in the sunshine and create some beautiful displays of their own.

Our garden is looking fabulous in this glorious weather and many of our residents take a walk around the garden with their morning cup of tea.

Yoga In The Garden

Julie from Suffolk Yoga led us in a wonderfully gentle and relaxing yoga session in the garden this week.

We are looking forward to inviting Julie back again soon and in the mean time we have learnt some new techniques and exercises to use every day.

Felixstowe In The Sunshine

We had a fantastic trip out to Felixstowe last week and the weather was completely with us!

We had a great time walking down the promenade before stopping in one of the many cafes for lunch. We are enjoying making the most of the weather to get out and about in the sun. We have a lot more trips out planned for the next few months so watch this space!
