Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

Harvest Festival

To celebrate Harvest Festival our residents have a created a wonderful display for our lounge. Made from salt dough and representing the traditional aspects of the festival, the residents showed off their creative skills with the baking and decorating.

Royal Appreciation

Residents at Alice Grange were delighted to receive a letter of thanks from her Majesty the Queen.

The letter was sent in appreciation of the splendid cake that the residents had designed and baked as part of a competition to celebrate the Queen's Official Birthday. Research into the Queen's favourite type of cake and royally inspired design had clearly been appreciated at the Palace when the Queen received a photo of the cake.

The letter hangs in pride of place on the wall in the reception area of Alice Grange.

Flower Arranging

The residents at Alice Grange have learnt a new skill - flower arranging. Our wonderful activities coordinator Penny was a fully trained florist prior to joining the team at Alice Grange and has kindly led a flower arranging class for residents. Focusing on colours, height and formation the class was enjoyed by all.

Fun In The Sun

Our residents have made the most of our wonderful garden whilst the sun is still shining. Using their exercise machines, Facetiming family and relaxing with coffee and cake - all the more enjoyable in the sunshine. We are very fortunate to have such fantastic garden facilities here at Alice Grange.

Interactive Table

Our residents at Alice Grange were really looking forward to trialing the interactive table. On the day, many residents enjoyed playing games and puzzles and there is so much more to this wonderful device.

After such a positive reaction the residents determined that they would like one purchased for the home. As such we should be taking delivery of one of these fantastic tables soon.

Garden Visits

Our garden visits are really popular reuniting residents with their families. There were lots of air hugs and blowing of kisses. Here we have one of our residents who recently celebrated her 90th birthday.
