Activities at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators provide a stimulating social programme to suit residents' individual tastes and desires, and offer group or one-to-one activities based on individual preferences. We are a dedicated team that always ensures residents have enough to do to keep them stimulated and entertained. There are regular trips out on the minibus to nearby places of interest, and exercise classes to suit people of all capabilities, in addition to much, much more.

Songs from the 60s and 70s

Today we welcomed back our regular pianist Mel Lewis. He played a variety of songs from the 60s, and 70s. He also happily takes requests taking residents' back in time with different music genre, such as jazz. It was incredible to hear classics such as the well-known Bossa Nova song the Girls from Ipanema.

Our residents had the opportunity to dance and sing along with our team members. It was a wonderful afternoon, enjoyed by everyone!

G-Fitness Session

Badgeworth Court welcomed our new volunteer Sasha from Pates’s Grammar School and we spent time with group of residents and played a board game "Getting To Know Me" in the De Clare lounge.

Afterwards, residents and team members enjoyed our G-Fitness session a great way to keep active and for those who prefer a quieter activity G-Fitness also offer hand massages.

Celebrating Doris Day

Today we celebrated what would have been Doris Day's birthday.  To honour one of the most popular American actresses, we spent time learning interesting facts about her early life and career, and we watched one of her films. Our residents selected a movie from a number of options: Please don't eat the Daisies, Young man with a horn, Young at Heart and Calamity Jane. They selected Calamity Jane starring Doris Day and Howard Keel, with lots of high-stepping dances and hummable scores written by Academy Award-winning songwriter Sanny Faib.

We were also lucky to have our volunteers with us to play Que sera sera which led to a lovely sing along.

Tai-Chi Class

Badgeworth Court residents really enjoyed a Tai-Chi class in our Memory Lane community. The session was run by our Activities Coordinator who had sounds of nature playing in the background. Residents went on to enjoy the sun in the gardens either by taking a walk or sitting with a drink. With the clocks changing and warmer weather here we are so enjoying being able to go outside more.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day from Badgeworth Court. Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate our mums and all the motherly figures in our lives. This year, we wanted to make this extra special for the mums in our home.

Our fabulous Chef prepared a lovely lunch in the dining room, enjoyed by all. This this afternoon there was a traditional afternoon tea accompanied by a piano concert provided from our extremely dedicated students from Pate’s Grammar School who even took special song requests from our residents. Joana and the students also delivered flowers to our residents in their bedrooms. What a wonderful day.
