Activities at Beaufort Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Lucy Lock

Activities Coordinator

Hello, I am Lucy and I have worked at Beaufort Grange since 2015, starting as a care assistant I have progressed to senior care assistant and now into my role as an Activities Assistant. It's always a pleasure to keep the residents updated with community activities. What I enjoy about my job is making everyone laugh and keeping residents and staff entertained. You will often hear me singing as I walk down the corridor!

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Beaufort Grange Care Home

Oktoberfest

Beaufort Grange welcomed Oktoberfest with open arms. Our residents were delighted to have a taster session of different German beers, and the Erdinger beer quickly became a favourite.

We had a little history lesson on the origins of beer, a quiz and we also displayed footage of the 'Wiesn' from the '50s and '60s to fully immerse our residents into the spirit of this famous Bavarian celebration.

Diwali Celebrations

Our residents stepped into the Diwali spirit at Beaufort Grange. One of our lovely carers had cooked delicious Indian food for the day and Beaufort’s residents were delighted.

We gave a short presentation on what Diwali is about and had so much fun dancing with our residents whilst  listening to Punjab folk music. Residents who wanted were lucky enough to try on some traditional Indian clothing.

Physio Sessions

We have been adapting to the challenges lockdown has faced; this includes weekly virtual physiotherapy sessions to keep up our fitness and movement.

Harvest Festival

We have spent the last week rolling, moulding and painting to create a Harvest spread fit for the Queen! We used salt dough to create a lot of our creations, and they came out so well; it was hard to believe they weren’t edible. Everybody in the home got involved with ideas, and this is the outcome of all our hard work.

World of Gin

Our residents explored the world of gin, as we sampled a range of artisan gins and complimenting tonics. We filled out tasting cards, making note of the aromas, flavours and textures. To finish off our gin-credible event, we were quizzed on everything we learnt.

Virtual Concert

Despite the restrictions of lockdown, music lives on and our residents had a wonderful time listening and singing along to music performed by Philippa Mo, a professional violinist, and Jennifer Begley, a professional opera singer.
