Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home
Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Braeburn Lodge Care Home
Karaoke
After the success of our last karaoke night, we decided to hold another evening for residents and staff to let their hair down together, sing a few songs and dance the night away. Our only disappointment was that the camerawoman was laughing too much to keep her hands from shaking and the party-goers were dancing too hard to keep the party pictures from blurring!
Cupcake Week
To celebrate National Cupcake Week, we held a couple of baking sessions to make some gorgeous treats for the residents and staff. We had wicked fun teasing each other about our baking skills (or lack thereof) and were quite grateful for those who offered their words of wisdom through a lot of giggles and wit. The cupcakes turned out quite nice considering the mistakes we made along the way, and they went down very nicely with a warm cup of tea. The staff seemed to enjoy them too as there were none left by the next day!
Grandparents' Day
To celebrate Grandparents' Day in style, we had a visit from Dave Waters, a musical legend who has had quite the career on stage! He performed many classic songs by legends such as Frank Sinatra and we had a dance and sing along with him. We have already asked Dave to come back for a Christmas special and can’t imagine a better day to celebrate the joys of being a grandparent.
PAT Dog Visit
We had another successful visit with our Pat dog, Jemima, recently, with friendships blooming between Suzi and Jem and the residents. We feel so lucky to have Suzi and Jem visit us - it’s the highlight of the week for some, who love to have a nice chat while fussing over such a beautiful dog.
Aqua Paints
Today we broke out the paintbrushes in our Memory Lane community and did some aqua painting together. The sense of accomplishment when the picture is finally revealed really cannot be beaten - and what wonderful pictures they are!
PAT Visit
We were introduced to the newest member of our team: Jamima, a local PAT dog. Her owner, Suzi, introduced us and they both made some new friends while they were here. We look forward to making this a regular occurrence so we can get our weekly fix of cuddles.

Coffee Morning
We extend a warm invitation for you to join us at our monthly coffee morning, come along and make new friends - all welcome from 10.00 am on the first Tuesday of the month.
