Activities at Brampton View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Brampton View Care Home
Grand National
Residents and staff at Brampton View care home in Northampton dressed to impress, donned their best hats and outfits, studied the form and had their bets at the ready for the 2024 Grand National, which ran on Saturday April 13.
Residents and staff got together to watch the races, and celebrated in style by having a fashion themed morning of designing clothes for the event. The residents spoke of their favourite outfits for racing and what they would wear. They designed on printed sketches how they would like their racing outfit to look.
The afternoon saw bets placed as the staff and residents sat down together to watch pre-recorded horse racing before the big event. Bets were placed and horses cheered on. Wins and loses were celebrated together as the fun continued up until the Grand National began later in the afternoon.
Mo Masedi, General Manager at the home, said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating The Grand National, it is such a great event to watch and we all had fun cheering on the horses and jockeys. We all had a little flutter between ourselves even though none of us has much of a clue about odds or form!”
Judy a resident at the home, commented: “I love the Grand National, it is such a fantastic spectacle. I haven’t got a clue about horse racing; I just choose the colours I like best!”
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
NATURE NOSTALGIA
Residents and guests at Brampton View Care Home in Northampton enjoyed an afternoon of reminiscence with Barefooted Arts who visited the home to provide a session of musical movement inspired to provoke childhood memories of outside play.
Barefooted Arts are a local organisation in Northampton who have benefited from the Barchester Charitable Foundation grant which has enabled them to set up these reminiscence sessions and outdoor events including groups at Delapre Abbey. Barefooted Arts are committed to providing musical movement and stimulation to bring back memories of childhood play and time in nature.
Their session contains sensory items you would traditionally find outside in the woods during the year including pine cones, moss, feathers. A game of conkers and singing of campfire songs. They encourage and provide choreography for the songs which can be done from the comfort of your chair.
Lucy Knight, Director of Barefooted Arts said “We are so grateful to be able to bring this experience to Brampton View and provide this reminiscence for the residents. To see the session bring back those childhood memories has been wonderful”
General Manager, Mo Masedi said, “Our residents and guests had a wonderful afternoon with the ladies from Barefooted Arts. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Brampton View Care Home as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this was one was one of our favourite sessions.”
Birthday Celebrations
90 OR 21 AGAIN? BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS FOR LOCAL CARE HOME RESIDENT
Celebrations have been in full swing at Brampton View Care Home, as one of its residents reaches her 90th Birthday!
Pat was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she reached her 90th Birthday. However Pat had decided the previous week that she didn’t want to be 90 this year and would like to revisit her 21st year. To receive her wish Head Chef Glenn Coombs created a birthday cake to mark Pat turning ’21 again’
The cake contained a photo of Pat and her favourite flowers of roses in icing. Pat, her friends and family tucked into the cake at a birthday lunch in her honour.
Pat commented “I have been thoroughly spoilt by everyone and the home has gone to so much effort to celebrate my birthday. It was nice to be 21 again for a few days but now I will return to my age of 90 and enjoy it with style!”
Mo Masedi, General Manager of Barchester Brampton View Care Home added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman in Pat as she reaches this amazing milestone. Pat is such a wonderful lady and we are pleased to have her with us and be able to celebrate her life and make her wishes come true.”

Zoo comes to Brampton View
Once again our visit from Lucia's Tiny Farm has left us all smiling and amazed at these incredible animals.
Lucia visits Brampton View once a month with a variety of animals, this time around our visitors included a chicken, a puppy, bunny rabbits, guinea pigs and much more!
Both staff and residents eagerly awaited cuddles with their favourite little friends and Lucia spent time informing us on how to care for them all.
Conversations soon turned to pets we have had before and what we would liked to have had. Many memories were shared of pets throughout our lives and how much they meant to us.
We had a fantastic morning with Lucia and her amazing animals and we look forward to their visit next month.
ST PATRICK’S DAY GETS THE GREEN LIGHT AT LOCAL CARE HOME
A jam packed day here at Brampton View today! We began our St Patrick’s celebrations with a visit from Kerry School of Irish Dance who delighted us with their performances.
Many residents commented that it had been years since they had seen any Irish dancing and were blown away by the talent from such young adults and children.
We then enjoyed an Irish themed lunch from our wonderful kitchen team with a little tipple of Guinness.
Carole and Peter of Zing brought our day to a close with an afternoon of party music accompanied with Irish decorated cupcakes and themed ice cream sundaes.
Our themed events are a big part of our varied life enrichment programme here at Brampton View. If you would like to join us for our next event then please get in touch. We would love to welcome you.
