Activities at Brampton View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Brampton View Care Home

Countdown to Christmas Advent
The chefs at Brampton View love any excuse to get creative so they put their skills to the test to create a Gingerbread house advent calendar to sit pride of place in the heart of the home. Head chef Glenn Coombs and Linda Durbin whipped up a big batch of gingerbread and then got busy decorating with icing, buttercream, marshmallows, dolly mixture, candy canes and edible glitter to make some of the glitziest gingerbread houses in town.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
This week we were joined by the children of Kingsthorpe Grove primary school to help us make decorations for our trees here within the home. We spent time crafting and decorating miniature trees, reindeers and snowmen whilst listening to Christmas music and talking about how trees at home. The children all shared that they believe they have made the ‘good’ list this year and after their visit with us we certainly believe this is true! We can’t wait to see them again.

Wedding Celebrations
Never to miss the chance for a celebration, when Betty’s grandson had his wedding day we decided to dress up and celebrate here. Betty was joined by her closest friends and staff members to raise a toast to the happy couple and enjoy a lunch made by the kitchen team. Everyone offered marriage advice and we can’t wait to see the photos from the wedding!

Christmas Card Making
We are beginning to feel festive here at Brampton View and have started with our first selection of Christmas cards. The residents choose their designs and spent time carefully crafting how they wanted their cards to look and who they wanted to send them too. A couple have remained here in the home on display. There will be many more to come in the next few weeks.

Ukes Aloud!
A fabulous afternoon with Ukes Aloud, a ukulele group from Northampton who raise money for charity. We spent time singing and dancing along with them and learning more about the instrument itself. The session was a good mood booster and everyone left with a big smile on their face and even some happy tears! We can’t wait for their next visit and we might even give it a try ourselves.

The kings birthday celebrations
This week we enjoyed celebrating the kings birthday. Staff and residents had an afternoon of traditional scones baked by Head Chef Glenn and made crowns to become king and queens of Brampton View for the afternoon. Residents chose their favourite classical music to accompany the event. One resident remarked that whilst she enjoyed being queen for an afternoon she wouldn’t want the job full time as it seems like hard work!
