Activities at Brampton View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Brampton View Care Home

World Food Day Celebrations
In honour of World Food Day we had the chance to taste foods from around the world including biscuits from Romania, crisps from America, fruit from Turkey, pretzels from Thailand, sweet treats from Singapore and more!
Residents were given the chance to taste test the item and then try to guess which country they think it might have originated from. Residents and staff reminisced about countries we have visited and food we have sampled. Flags from countries around the world were on display as we attempted to match the country to the flag.
Food tasting is always a popular activity here at Brampton View and we are already planning our Christmas tasting!

Integr8Archery taster sessions for Residents
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Integr8Archery to Brampton for a taster session of the sport!
Helen, an experienced archer visited us to explain all about archery and its benefits. Did you know in the archery groups around Northamptonshire the members age between 3-93 years old? It really is an all-inclusive sport.
After a little scepticism from our residents Helen was keen to show how fun and relaxing the sport could be and soon had us all wanting to give it a try. Helen provided helpful demonstrations and 1-1 coaching for all who took part, she explained the benefits of boosting well-being, improving hand eye coordination and encouraging healthy and friendly competition.
Both staff and residents were thrilled at just how easy it was to shoot the soft archery and some even scored very highly! Integr8Archery are keen to be able to bring archery to all and have thought of useful adaptations to assist everyone.
After a few rounds we were suitably exhausted but are keen to welcome Helen back to Brampton View for another go! We are keen to encourage residents to try new experiences and this was a very successful afternoon.
At Brampton View Care home we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends and exploring new adventures.

Impromptu Dobbies Mid Week Visit
Did you know we offer regular outings for our residents?
This week our wonderful ladies asked if they could browse through some clothing and Christmas items. This prompted a mid-week trip to Dobbies! We boarded our minibus and reminisced as we travelled through Northampton town centre and the residents commented on the changes in the area since they last visited.
Once we arrived at Dobbies we were greeted by friendly staff and the ladies could shop to their hearts content. We browsed through clothing sections, shoe sections and then made it to the Christmas aisles. We were amazed at the selection of items on offer and couldn't help but sing along to the carols playing.
Our Residents has a wonderful time and returned with new clothes and decorations ready to grace our Christmas trees.
Supporting residents to enjoy outings, clothes shopping, meals out and other trips is a key aspect of the weekly activities calendar.

World Mental Health Day in the Workplace
To honour World Mental Health Day this year both staff and residents gathered to share open, honest conversations about their feelings and challenges they have faced in their lives. Comfort was found in knowing that they were not alone with many of these challenges.
Our hospitality team provided a selection of homemade smoothies and healthy snacks alongside some sweet treats to help promote self care.
With this year's theme being prioritising mental health in the workplace residents used the opportunity to make positivity cards for the staff. The cards contained positive quotes and inspirational thoughts and images. The idea being that staff can keep these with them at all times if needed.
The cards were greatly appreciated by all staff and something that our residents are keen to keep making for them!
At Brampton View Care home we support and encourage our residents to be involved and celebrate national and world recognised days by doing things they love, on this occasion connecting with staff through the art of card making.

Fabulous Entertainment from Champagne Enterprise
Another fantastic afternoon of live entertainment here at Brampton View with Val & Rob from Champagne Enterprise. Val & Rob had us all singing and dancing to our favourite songs, they even convinced some of the carers to join them with a number or two.
Did you know music is proven to reduce stress levels, improve communication and cognitive skills? All the more reason to dance the afternoon away!
Both staff and residents left smiling and agreed that we can't think of a better way to spend our time.
One of the cornerstones of our life enrichment program is live musical entertainment. Resident involvement in choosing genres along with feedback after each performance means that we are able to constantly improve our activities calendar

MacMillan Coffee Morning Big Success
Staff and residents at Brampton View Care Home in Northampton held a charity coffee morning and bake sale on Friday 27th September to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Having a coffee morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause. The money raised helps everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can.
Residents enjoyed spending time with friends and relatives, and members of the local community. Head chef, Glenn Coombs had baked lots of lovely cakes, biscuits and pastries for everyone to sample and for guests to buy to take home. Some residents had baked cakes and biscuits for the occasion too along with their visitors and members of the community, everyone was spoilt for choice!
Brampton View’s coffee morning was a big success - they managed to raise just shy of £50 and, most importantly, everyone had a great time doing it!
Supporting charity days such as Macmillan Coffee Morning with family-friendly environment are just some of the ways that we ensure the residents at Brampton View Care home remain connected with their loved ones and the wider community.
