Activities at Brookfield Care Home

Our Activities coordinator dedicates her time on getting feedback from our residents of what they like to do. We have introduced paper mornings which involves group discussions and an active mind, and we also have a variety of entertainers that come in on a weekly basis. We hold a residents quiz once a week as it is one of our more popular activities, we now call it the Big Quiz due to its popularity.

It is important that we involve the community and family in many of our activities. We have the local rugby club heritage centre coming in once a week to do Bocci (indoor bowls) and seated exercise. We also hold cheese and wine evenings for family and residents which are very popular. Here at Brookfield we pride ourselves on the fabulous bond our activity coordinator has with all our residents as they are as happy to see her each morning as she is to see her friends.

Residents enjoy a live performance

April showers didn’t get the better of us as we enjoyed a fun filled afternoon and welcomed popular vocalist, Janet for a live performance.  Our residents enjoy her performances and everyone joins in singing, dancing and toe-tapping along. There was lots of laughter to be heard throughout the home and we even enjoyed a glass of bubbles too!

Sound of Music

We love the sound of music here at Brookfield! Our residents enjoy singing and we have regular singing sessions with Activities Coordinator, Suzanne. Residents love choosing their favourite song and we may have a solo as ‘music lifts the soul’.

Easter egg hunt

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Brookfield care home have been having fantastic fun hiding Easter eggs all over the place in Lymm for residents and families to find.

General Manager, Sarah Nolan said: “We’ve all had such fun first of all hiding the Easter eggs and then watching our residents and families hunt for them throughout the home and garden!”
