Activities at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Tina Stovey

Activities Lead /Diversity Champion

I started working at Bushey House Beaumont in 2022 in an activities role that I absolutely love. There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that mine does. I am delighted to be able to play my part in helping to bring joy and laughter into our residents’ daily lives and offer them an interesting choice of events to do just that.

Life at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home

Animal Therapy

Animal therapy is one of the cornerstones of our life enrichment programme at Bushey House Beaumont and we love having new animals visit on a regular basis.

Whilst we have regular visits from Performing Pets and it is always wonderful when they bring in one of their farm animals. This week we had a visit from some adorable baby bunnies who we all fell in love with and wanted to keep.

Bushey House Gardening Club

Many of our residents are keen gardeners and Tina our activities dynamo has organised weekly gardening sessions at Bushey House Beaumont. They planted a varied of seeds and we are beginning to see the first signs of growth.

We have purchased a raised flower bed this week and are hoping to start growing vegetables and some more summer flowers. Residents have really been enjoying this activity and we look forward to seeing all the beautiful flowers emerge and eating our salad crop over the next few months.

Chess Club Visit

Residents had a visit from St Hildas School Chess Club yesterday. This was an opportunity for pupils to play chess with our residents, despite their young age there were some extremely talented players.

We have regular visits from St Hildas School in Bushey and often get the opportunity to take our residents to the school for events. It’s lovely to see how much fun they bring and to see the benefits of interacting with our local schools.

Celebrating Carers Week

This week we are celebrating national Carers Week at Bushey Beaumont.

We would like to thank all our fantastic carers for all that you do and how much joy you bring in to our residents lives. We hosted a little party for all the care team, but of course we won’t be thanking them just this week but every day for their dedication and hard work.

Community Tea in Bushey Beaumont

Bushey House Beaumont hosted another successful Community Tea last week. This is where we welcome the local community to come and join us and our residents for an afternoon tea and live musical entertainment.

We host these events every month, if you would like to attend our next Community Tea please call us on 0208 421 8844.

Poppy and Daisy pay a visit

Residents and staff were delighted to welcome 2 therapy pets as they paid Bushey House Beaumont a special visit. The two 14 week old toy poodles, Poppy and Daisy caused a great deal of excitement as they toured the home. Pets at Therapy who bring in a variety of animals to the home said” They had a wonderful afternoon, with lots of attention and cuddles and were ‘Pawfectly’ behaved.”
