Activities at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Tina Stovey

Activities Lead /Diversity Champion

I started working at Bushey House Beaumont in 2022 in an activities role that I absolutely love. There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that mine does. I am delighted to be able to play my part in helping to bring joy and laughter into our residents’ daily lives and offer them an interesting choice of events to do just that.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home

Coronation lunch fit for a king

Residents enjoyed a stunning Coronation lunch, devised by Head Chef Avni and his team.

For starters there was a choice of Watercress and potato soup or Coronation chicken salad. This was followed with a choice of three mains. Salmon, spinach and dill Wellington, Herby welsh rack of lamb or Asparagus and goats cheese quiche. For dessert, Bakewell tart or Country garden summer fruit trifle.

All our residents commented on how delicious the lunch was and how much they enjoyed it!

Royal visit to Bushey House Beaumont

Residents received a Royal visit on Friday prior to the Kings Coronation.

King Charles made a surprise visit despite having a very hectic diary, with residents and staff having great fun posing with the life size cut out. This was the beginning of a very busy weekend for us at Bushey House, with a full programme and parties to celebrate this historic occasion.

A delicious lunch at Bushey House Beaumont

Chefs Avni and Sean have been hard at work producing a delicious, home cooked lunch for our residents and visitors. Here is a photo of today’s vegetarian main course, we can confirm it tastes as good as it looks!

Paddy and Buddy pay a visit

Residents welcomed two very special visitors to Bushey House yesterday.

Baby pygmy goats Paddy and Buddy were brought in by Performing Pets and our residents spent a lovely afternoon holding and cuddling them.

We have monthly visits from the team at Performing Pets and we have a different animal visit us every month. Residents really enjoy having the chance to hold and interact with so many different animals.

Fun in the sun

With our beautiful grounds bathed in sunlight, our residents enjoyed some time in the garden today filling all the bird feeders.

Our grounds have an array of wildlife that visit and the several bird feeders located by our sun terrace is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy watching our feathery friends.

Trip to local garden centre

Bushey House residents enjoyed a mini bus trip to a local garden centre.

They had a lovely time, looking at the beautiful flowers followed by a delicious tea in their café. We organise regular trips in our own mini bus to great locations.
