Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!
Stephanie Boyd
Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home
Easter egg hunt
Rosemary Burns, resident, enjoyed watching her grandchildren take part in our Easter Egg Hunt in the gardens at Caldy Manor. We had a wonderful afternoon together.
Residents hop to it!
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Caldy Manor care home have been having fantastic fun welcoming the Easter Bunny to Caldy Manor for a visit. Residents received a bag of chocolate goodies and sweets to keep them going over Easter Week. The Easter Bunny, accompanied by Alice danced and performed songs for our cheering residents and staff.
General Manager, Hannah Roberts, said: ‘Activities staff and volunteers have worked hard to raise extra funds for our residents to enjoy treats at Easter time’ Enda Vincent, a resident said: “I loved meeting the Easter Bunny and getting my chocolate treats’.
Ladies Day
The ladies at our home had a great excuse to put on their elegant clothes and hats in recognition of the Ladies Day at the Grand National, held annually at Aintree Racecourse.
The day is held alongside horse racing, and is famous not only for the action on the course, but the fashion and entertainment of it.
The Astor's
Our residents came together to enjoy an exciting virtual talk courtesy of the team at National Trust Talks Service. The illustrated talk took us closer to one of Cliveden’s most famous families, the Astors. Our residents were able to discover what motivated William Waldorf Astor, America’s richest man, to purchase Cliveden in 1893 and how the estate became the centre of high society in the 1920 s and 30 s thanks to his son Waldorf and daughter in law Nancy Astor.
The Astors time at Cliveden came to an end in the 1960 s after the estate became infamously associated with Profumo Affair, but the house and garden continue to reflect their innovations and passions. We all had a brilliant time.
The Wallace Collection
We had a lovely time joining Holly and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to the Collection, followed by a sensory exploratory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings. The Collection ranges from Old Master paintings to 18th century French furniture, arms and armour. We all had a wonderful time and cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and paint some landscapes in the upcoming days.
Commonwealth Day
A lovely afternoon together watching the Commonwealth Day service and enjoying an afternoon tea together as we tried to name the 54 Commonwealth countries.
