Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home
Balloon Fiesta
For our balloon fiesta at Caldy Manor we watched some videos of the fiesta held in Bristol and seen all the wonderful balloons that come from all over the world. We did balloon exercises, throw all the balloons off the parachute and balloon tennis. We all had so much fun, a very active afternoon.
A stroll in the sunshine
Before it gets too hot on our lovely Bank Holiday Holiday weekend... a stroll around the village was just the perfect morning activity. We live in such a beautiful place.
Greenfingers
We all like to help here at Caldy. Watering the flowers to help our fabulous gardener and picking out some. It may seem early but picking up the falling pine cones so we can use them for Christmas decorations. We ended our afternoon walking round the garden and sitting on the residents favorite bench.
Words of Wisdom
'You must be mindful and kind to others, be wonderful always!' By sitting and talking to our residents we find out what matters most to people. Asking how residents think and feel about their home, their plans for future in regards to needs and wishes and how they would like to approach life means that we can support them to reach their dreams x
Musical mystery tour
Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.
Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.
The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
BHC Care Awards 2022 - Divisional Winner
We are proud to announce that Caldy Manor has been crowned Garden of the Year for the North Division in this year’s Barchester Care Awards and is through to the national round of judging.
More than 2,950 nominations were received from all Barchester homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and the home is over the moon to have been named the winner for the division, beating hundreds of other nominees.
Our divisional winner, Caldy Manor is through to the national finals in which the overall winner is decided. They will join winners from across the UK at a special awards event in October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and discover if they have won a national award. Huge congratulations, well deserved!
