Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

Katie Nicolson

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Katie, and I am Activities Coordinator here at Canmore Lodge, transferring from our sister home, Drummond Grange, in 2025.  Prior to joining Barchester, I worked in a number of care roles and studied Psychology and Sociology at Queen Margaret’s University and was awarded a degree of Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology at the start of 2022.

I enjoy being part of the activities team and bringing new and exciting opportunities and experiences to the residents. When I am not at work, I am a local Girl Guide leader and youth leader for my church youth group.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
