Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

Carer of the Year
The results are in for our Carer of the Year, Divisional Winner of 2023... Baillie Keenan! Congratulations on your big win, and thank you for providing quality care to our residents at Canmore Lodge Care Home! We appreciate and value all the hard work you do here, and we celebrate with you on this much earned reward! This award is served each year and is split into 15 categories amongst 248 Barchester homes. We are very proud to be one of the homes receiving this award and especially to recognise what work Baillie has put in for our residents! Thank you again Baillie for all you’ve done!
Mayfair of Nightingales
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.
Horse Riding Therapy Centre
Stop Horsing around! Our residents are here to visit them! Thank you so much to Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre for letting our residents come to see the horses and learn about what you guys do! Our residents had an absolute blast and loved being able to see them and even groom them!
Fir Care
Our residents joined in some strength training earlier this week and getting their sweat on! Thanks to fit care, who came in and helped make our residents feel comfortable, whilst trying something new and for wanting to help them be their best, by helping them build strength and some mobility! Our residents can't wait to do it again soon!
Vine Church
Some of our residents had a lovely visit to The Vine Church in Dunfermline, especially for one resident who got very emotional going down memory lane. The church made us feel really welcome with a chat and teas, coffees and cake.
National Ice Cream Day
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a sing-along to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
