Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Canon's House Summer Fete
Cepen Lodge were delighted to be invited to the Canon’s House summer fete. We took residents Tony, Margaret and Mona along, thank you all the Canon's House team for such a warm welcome. We enjoyed looking at all the stalls and having a cup of tea and delicious cake watching the children enjoy games and train rides. We also bought back some cakes which residents enjoyed in the gardens when we returned.
Canon's House is a very special place supporting children and their families, we look forward to our next visit.

Work Experience Student Runs Art Therapy Classes
We welcomed Annabel to Cepen Lodge who was on her work experience week with Barchester Healthcare. Annabel is a year 10 student at Collegiate School with a real interest in art, she held two art therapy workshops; in the morning on our Memory Lane Community and then with the General Community in the afternoon. The workshops were very relaxed and as always getting round a table gives everyone the chance to chat.
We utilised Annabel’s artistic flair and asked her to create a giant moon for our new “Wish Upon a Star” initiative. Thank you Annabel for running such enjoyable sessions and for our moon!

Sunny Saturday
What a glorious day it was at Cepen Lodge today, with the sun shinning, residents and their visitors enjoyed a fun and relaxing afternoon in our gardens. There was tea and cake, garden games, quality time spent with each other and lots of chatting.

Cepen Lodge's New Gym
It is fantastic when ideas become a reality and although the room isn't quite ready for its grand reveal yet our residents (and visitors!) were so excited when they heard some of the equipment had arrived they wanted to give it a test run first. A fabulous session was had, the music was pumping and we can't wait for the room to be fully ready. The goal is working on our strength balance and fitness to reduce falls and improve mobility, whilst having fun at the same time!

Chippenham Scouts Enjoy a Games Evening with Residents
Last night we welcomed back 1st Chippenham Scout Group for a games evening with the residents. Everyone had so much fun playing a variety of games and the activities team arranged for pizza for this great group of Scouts.

Cepen Lodge's Right Royal Celebration
Cepen Lodge residents had a wonderful weekend celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camila. The celebrations began with a cruise show performed by Toby from Mini Concerts. Everyone donned their homemade crowns and Union Jack hats!
The day of the Coronation began with a buck’s fizz continental breakfast. Residents and staff greatly enjoyed watching the service and pageantry in Westminster Abbey followed by the parade. In the afternoon pianist Kieran performed popular songs with residents and staff dancing and enjoying the party atmosphere. There were even drinks served by their majesties! The weekend ended with everyone settling down to watch the Coronation concert.
