Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Local Police Officers Visit Retired Officers
Thank you so much to local police officers Lewis and Dan from Wiltshire Police for visiting Cepen Lodge today. They spent time with resident Keith who was a Chief Inspector and Janet who worked for Special Branch. Janet showed them photographs of her when she was in the police and talked about some of her experiences. It was great to see current officers chatting with their predecessors about their time in the force. Resident Tony also presented Lewis and Dan with one of his famous paintings. It was such an enjoyable visit for all and so appreciated by the residents.
Love to Move
Cepen Lodge residents had our first 'Love to Move' session ready to build up strength and mobility as part of Wiltshire Senior Games with WASP (Wiltshire & Swindon Sport).
We started off with fitness measurement tests such as hand grip strength, sit to stand, walking distance and we will do these again at the end of the 12 weeks to see what improvements we have made. Then we had a brilliant session with Jane from the British Gymnastics Foundation doing cognitive exercises along to music!
Everyone had a brilliant time and we can't wait to go again next week! Our activity co-ordinator Anita is leading as our movement and exercise champion to hold a second weekly session involving a combination of exercise as per Janes program and games such as javelin throwing and golf.
In Your Easter Bonnet......
With spring around the corner Cepen Lodge residents have started on Easter crafts starting with our Easter bonnets. What a great afternoon everyone had creating some great hats!
Freddie Cuddles!
When activities coordinator Anita brings in her adopted dog Freddie, there are cuddles all round. Freddie adores the residents and the love him coming to see them.
Happy St David's Day
Cepen Lodge's preparations for St David's Day started the day before with residents making absolutely delicious Welsh cakes. There were decorations around the home and it was a day enjoyed by all with the Welsh cakes going down very well!
A trip to the pub
