Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Anita Williams
Hello. my name is Anita, I have worked at Cepen Lodge for 5 years, I started as a Senior Care Assistant and now I am the Activities Coordinator which I really enjoy, I love the interaction with our residents and making their days enjoyable. I am always thinking of new activities and events, and ways to engage with our local community for our residents benefit. Cepen Lodge is a great team that I am proud to be a part of.

Life at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Whole Home Garden BBQ
Making the most of the last of the summer, our wonderful kitchen and activities teams hosted a whole home barbecue supported by our care team. Both residents and staff enjoyed a great barbecue lunch in the sunshine, the music was playing and we all came together for a lovely afternoon.
Barchester Senior Games
Some of our residents travelled to Kingfisher Lodge, one of our sister homes, where we, along with another of our homes Beaufort Grange, took part in our first Barchester Healthcare Senior Games. Each home participated in a selection of timed activities, it turns out that we all become very competitive when home pride is involved.
All the residents were fantastic competitors and were very proud to be awarded a medal each.
Obviously there has to be a winner, massive congratulations to Beaufort Grange who were the winners of the first Barchester Healthcare senior games.
Whitehall Garden Centre Trip
Yesterday Siobhan and Abby took a couple of our ladies to visit Whitehall Garden Centres though there was a power cut so they were unable to have tea and cake, everyone agreed that they still had a lovely time.
Wish Upon a Star
Yesterday we had a great visit from Bath Classic Motorcycle Club for one of our residents Peter's star wish. Peter was a motorbike mechanic, and has a great love for motorcycles, so our activity team contacted Bath Classic Motorcycle Club, who rode down to us for the day to show Peter and our other residents some of their classics, and join us for tea cake and a chat - all things bike related!
Lots of our residents enjoyed coming down to admire the motorcycles and chat with the team from the motorcycle club.
Thankyou so much to Bath Classic Motorcycle Club for helping us make Peter's wish come true.
Afternoon Tea in the Garden
Enjoying the sunshine (at last!) with tea and cake in the garden. A lovely afternoon for a natter over a cuppa!
Police Dog Visit
We had a fantastic afternoon joined by Chippenham Police Wiltshire Police and their dog unit. Residents and staff loved meeting the dogs and learning about their brilliant skills, as well as their dog handlers. Animals are great therapy for our residents, as well as engaging with the community and local Police.
