Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Read our brochure ‘Life-enriching activities’ for more information about life in our care homes.

'Festive Freddie' Brings Smiles
Our Activities Coordinator, Anita surprised our residents with a visit from the best, and most well-behaved Santa of all... their four-legged friend, the fabulous 'Freddie'! He's such a cutie, happy to be fussed and fed dog treats all day.
Thank you Anita and Freddie for making our day and even brighter.
Ho Ho Ho! Santa Surpise's Playgroup
Santa’s visit to Cepen Lodge made not only our visiting playgroup faces light up but our residents couldn’t help themselves smiling as we had a wonderful time hosting an intergenerational Christmas party to remember with the children from Boogie Beat Music & Movement North Wiltshire.
The home team with special guest star Santa (Sean) created a morning of magical moments as the children, parents and our residents came together for festive music and dance in our welcoming lounge.
"Watching the residents interact with all the visiting babies and toddlers at our monthly sessions is priceless" said Activities Coordinator; Anita. "We understand that parenthood can sometimes feel isolating and working with Boogie Beats means we help create a special space where parents can meet, share experiences, and watch their little ones have lots of fun alongside our residents."
From all at Cepen Lodge we wish all our little friends a very Merry Christmas!
Christmas Pantomine Performance
The amazing Tickled Pink Productions joined us for a very merry Christmas performance earlier this week. Noel and Holly had everyone singing and giggling as they worked the crown into the storyline.

We've started putting up our trees and decorations in the communal areas, and having lots of fun too while we do!
Intergenerational Play at its Best
Taking part in intergenerational activities such as social engagements and interactions, bring together younger and older generations for a common purpose.
Once a month our residents are treated to the joy of seeing the children from Boogie Beat Music & Movement North Wiltshire enjoying life within our home. These activities build on the strengths that different generations have to offer, as well as nurture understanding, respect, and challenge ageism.
Our residents' smiles last all day long!
Fete Full of Festive Fun
It was smiles all round as staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together on Saturday to enjoy a wonderful Christmas Fete. There were all kinds of stalls on offer for guests to browse including Sue's Crafts, Poppy's Hand-Made Jewellery and fabulous food fancies by E&Js Bakery.
We had fun singing to Christmas songs, playing games and drinking mulled wine as we ate festive treats. The raffle was a big hit alongside Santa's visit. The jolly chappie met with everyone to check their status on his 'good & naughty' list!
The team at Cepen Lodge would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who either manned a stall, donated a raffle prize or who came along to support the home.
What a Magical Christmas Experience!
We’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol.
This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our home.
A huge thank you to The Old Vic Theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience.
Cepen's Big Christmas Switch-On
It's the 1st December and we've officially launched Christmas at Cepen Lodge.
The weather wasn't going to stop our festive fun as we gathered together in the homes' reception for the big Christmas Light's switch on.
Young at heart Melvina, our oldest resident at 99 was honoured to be asked to flip the switch, saying she felt like a celebrity as everyone cheered and clapped her as she entered the room.
Once alight the wonderful D'Artagnan sang all the Christmas songs we know and love to get the party started, as the rain fall outside, we had the merriest of times in the warmth of our beautiful home
